Two plants got sick overnight!

I was hospitalized for a couple days and got out yesterday. Checked my plants and they seemed to be normal. Gave them all a bit of water in case they were thirsty. Then I went out this morning and noticed two with curling or “canoeing” leaves. One is a Dr. Feelgood autoflower and the other is a feminized GDP. Both have been healthy up to now. 9E96490F-4065-426C-95B1-E0FFE961A322.jpeg 824B0B46-9C26-428E-9C29-1FECE7D65979.jpegAC5D7D48-C656-4D48-83BD-CC66100D85ED.jpeg

I checked half a dozen plants for mites with a sheet of white paper and I only found one live critter that looked like a mite. The plants are due for spinosad and fertilizer anyway so I guess I will give them some, but I was hoping someone might be able to recognize the symptoms.

I have about 10 others that seem to be fine as of now, except that the Dr. Feelgood plants all have tiny yellow spots on the leaves that appeared while I was in hospital.

If the spinosad and fert does not help, I might try neem or some other oil.

Should I be worried about fungus? I'm growing in Southern Cali and it hasn't rained in at least a couple weeks but the wind has been fierce at times, blowing a truckload of palm fronds out of a tree onto my front lawn.

Looks like a lockout and low humidity at the same time to me. Maybe bugs too
Yeah I was thinking with all the wind they might be dehydrated even though I watered them last night. Up till now they were the healthiest-looking of my dozen or so plants. Maybe they "outgrew" the water supply that I was giving them.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

Could be over watering too. Make sure they dry out all the way before ya water each time

Crap! You're right! I just gave the plants more water AND ferts, because I was thinking "No way could they be overwatered," but now I recall I asked someone to water them while I was in the hospital. When I came home yesterday they did not look thirsty but I gave them water anyway because the ground looked dry as a bone. :(

I hat neem, when I used it nothing I tried after that would help for neem seams to just let any thing I sprayed on it to just run off.I would never use neem again, jmo but lots of people use it.

I have had success w cold pressed neem oil and Dr bronners at 2 tbsp of each per gallon. I use a Hudson fog fogger. I recommend rinsing w plain water after spraying it though, because a heavy coat of neem has choked my plants a few times now. Damage looks similar to what you are looking at, crispy outer leaves, twisting, burn holes, but the new growth looks fine and the plants recover in a few days.

I like neem. I use it regularly, but it can be overdone to the detriment of the plants.

Update, if anyone cares: The four affected plants are still alive. The three Dr. Feelgood still look awful but I think that the newest leaves are growing out healthy. The GDP (in photo) appears to be OK and I took a few cuttings off it this morning. I have sprayed with spinosad and "Worry Free" pyrethrin/soap insect killer. Also sprinkled diatomaceous earth.

In a couple of days I might remove the night light and let all the plants go full flower.

Another thing, FWIW, all four plants that got "sick" were grown from seed. I have about eight others that are clones and none of them were affected by whatever is bothering the seed plants.

Also, I have five plants growing in containers and they have not been affected. Four of them are seedlings.

Mysterious. They look way better. Good luck

start them indoors and let them get healthy and strong them move them outside under a tree for a week to harden off. get some better soil or leave your plants in a pot and transplant. It looks like my backyard soil and you'll never get nay decent bud off that. good luck
