After plenty of searching, it appears that there's no way for me to delete my account.
Yeah, yeah, yeah... I know... "Just don't sign-in anymore" or whatever. Duh, now THAT's helpful advice.
Say what you will about how to handle it, but none of it actually "handles" it. If a member wants to delete his/her account, then they aught to be able to do that. That's it. Period.
My reasons for wanting to are irrelevant. It's been a great site, and there need not even be a "reason" for my wanting to delete my account. After all, it is supposed to be MY account.
But like Facebook & a few other larger corporate conglomerate sites out there, what's yours is NOT yours: It belongs to the site... Including (apparently) your choice to delete your account.
I wouldn't care if my postings in the forum would remain, or anything I've done here for that matter. I've enjoyed this site and it's been quite helpful to me. But now that I want to take a bow and close the door behind me, I find myself shackled to the frickin' infrastructure. Whether it's because of ancient & outdated tech within the website itself that doesn't have that option built-into it, or whether it's because of some screwed-up "we own you" power dynamic, it's kinda sad & pathetic.
And now all the haters can rant & rave their small-minded rationale about what else I can do instead, or some delusional ramblings with no basis in reality re: why they think I want to delete my account... It matters not. I am right, and all the haters are wrong, and that's that: I want to delete my account and have been unable to do so. If someone can tell me HOW I can delete my account here, then please help and share that info.
Otherwise, note that I've not been antagonistic towards RollItUp, and have conversely complimented it on a job excellently done. But the fact that it seems to make it's users eternal prisoners is nothing short of ghetto. Absolutely & positively ghetto. And retarded.
