Diary of a snapped autoflower main stem!

Hey guys!

So this week I did a mighty job of snapping my autoflower's main stem at day 25!

I topped the plant at day 21, so the plant was still recovering abit stress wise from that.

I was doing some LST when I overpulled accidently, and snapped the main stem right after the 2nd true node. Completely off! Was holding it in the air! I panicked! :? I quickly got some masking tape and proceeded to get on my knee's and perform surgery. Moments passed on, But I got the stem exactly in place from where it snapped. After reading lots on the internet, Most suggested it WOULD NOT make it. No hope, some said use as clone, some said throw it away and accept losses. But I wasnt having a bar of that!

Heres some photos evidence to show the progress of snapping an autoflower's main stem clean off at day 25. ;-)

Strain: GSC Fast buds.

25 gsc snap! stem.jpg Day 25, Stem after surgery.

25 gsc snap!.jpg Day 25, Full plant. Starting to flop, Fan leaves buckling the fastest. Shrivelling and turning dark green. The tops of the plant were also starting to discolour.

26 gsc snap! 24h.jpg Day 26, 24 Hours later, Looking Sad! Discolouration and funny texture on fan leaves.

27 gsc snap! 48h.jpg Day 27, 48 Hours later, starting to come back! its a miracle! so soon!

28 gsc snap! 72h.jpg Day 28, 72 Hours later, She's coming back boys! Mighty quick.

28 gsc snap! stem.jpg Day 28, 72 Hours later, Stem progress shot. Will leave the tape for a few more days.

This autoflower has been a tough plant. Impressed!
There's always hope!

:weed:

Also still new to growing, Silica is okay to start feeding from week 2 onwards ? 1ml/ Gal
Any reccomendations & Advice would be great.

Great job on the surgery but i am more interested in the topping part - So you did top your auto?

I hope its not the first you top and you can actually tell me the difference yield wise between a topped and non-topped, same strain?

7 years growing and i never topped an auto!

FB GSC gonna be my next grow, so keep the pics coming. How she's been so far other than surviving being broken in half?

Hey man, Good as gold. Been a solid plant from day 1. Only been feeding lightly..1/4 Strength.. 30 days old.. they claim its a big feeder but I beg to differ. no deficiency's at all just healthy!
quickest to take off from the rest.

She looks great, realy excited to grow her under my new light. Waiting for my first grow to finish, its 60th day of my oldest Amnesia Auto. So she got 4 more weeks give or take, flowers just started to fill in. There is a picture of her. I will start the gsc in another tent when harvest time gets close.

I've done a few GSC from FB and other various cookie auto's. FB GSC usually stay on the medium size about 3ft tall with good side branching. Will also accept topping/training with same yield results around 3 oz of great tasting bud. Just a tip, wait till her buds "finger" out which kinda looks like foxtailing but it's just how she grows.

Just top early. no issues at all.

Lst from that point. Just spread her out for an even canopy.
Thats a good idea. Not much extra stress, healthy plant can easly recorver from topping in 1-2 days. Splitting her into two for more symmetric canopy sounds good. I'm trying that on next grow for sure.
