So, 14 Big Buddha Cheese Pheno #3, 10 - Pheno #5 and 10 - Pheno #2
20 seconds every 3 minutes to start with.
The cloning compound does not stay on the clones very long. I guess it gets into the rez solution and supplies the acid that way. Will be checking pH regularly to make sure the solution does not get out of wack with the cloning compound in it.

Getting next grow ready.
Clones taken from the mothers on Jan 1, put in the new DIY EZ Cloner, have never done this before so a big learning experience. I have three different pheno's of the Cheese from last grow, #'s 3/14, 5/10, and 2/10, so 34 plants in all and will choose the the 24 I will use for this grow. I selected these three pheno's as their grow traits were very similar. In flower the were all about the same height and bulk.
Irrigation ready, tried the Rainbird emitters like I used last grow, but my pump only does 1.2 gpm so was not enough volume. Switched to 2 gph pressure compensating drippers, going to take some time to adjust but think it will be ok
The clones started swelling on 1/11 and here we are 5 days later. 33 of the 34 have rooted, expect the other by tomorrow.
Getting the Smart Pots ready, 3 pounds of coco in each pot. And the pots set up to get the initial flush with 6 gallons tap water and 20 gallons of rain water, will add Cal/Magic and very reduced amt of Rapid Start.
Unsure when I will transplant from the cloner to the pots, again this is a learning experience so reading and getting advice from growers who have done the clone thing and SOG before.
I need to get these planted, give them a couple of weeks to take off and put them into flower. Have a trip planned in about three months and want to harvest prior to the trip.

Looking like only three have not taken root. I can live with that, 91%.
So over the next couple of days I will select which ones will be going into the tent. Hoping to get a representation of all three pheno's but will chose the best of the best for the tent. I will put the remaining clones in Solo's, get them rooted and give them to my PTSD group and a few to the buddy that I've been teaching to grow.

Really enjoy seeing the growth from one day to the next. Cloning is almost as much fun as growing, now I did say almost,

Yep it looks like I will be transplanting tomorrow.
I added 15 gallons or rain water to the tank and put the aquarium water in there, the temp of the water was 63 degrees so by the time I get ready to transplant it should be around 75 degrees. Will add the nutes this morning to allow them to stabilize for a day prior to pH'ing.

From the cloner into the Smart Pots, only 6 hrs, now a big bowl and some relaxing. The plants have done a lot since the first started showing swelling along the stems. Roots did not begin to show until the 14th but they took off well on the 16th, here they are out of the cloner and about to go into the smart pots.
Finished and irrigation hooked up.
Used Great White in the planting process, both dry, sprinkled in the holes and added to the 0.9 EC solution to water just the area where the plant is located in the pot. Then after I got everything in the tent I hand watered all the pots entirely with the 0.9 solution, but added both Great White and SubCulture II and watered to a heavy runoff.
Here are the remaining clones in the Solo's. These will go to my PTSD group.
Now two to three weeks and we will begin flower. Let's see how it goes.

Fantastic to see your success with your cloner. I found the biggest thing for me was patience with it. If you leave it for another week you will have roots 12-24 inches long. Great fun.
Are you having any problems with the Great White plugging up your emitters? That is quite the octopus you have there. Hope you don't have to move it much. If I remember you have quick disconnect on each pot. Are the emitters drip or spray?
Always a treat to follow your grows. Thanks for posting such detailed reports with photos.

GW did plug the filters, both the inline and the filter in the pressure reducer. But I don't think I will be using the pressure reducer. In past grows I hand water'ed when I used GW and/or SubCulture II to prevent that plugging.
These are 2 gph Rainbird drippers, Will be watching them closely for any problems.

You said patience was the greatest asset, reminds me of a poster I had back in the 60's, black lite poster with two vultures sitting in an ol dead tree in the desert with a cow skull and other things sitting at the base of the tree. One is saying to the other, "Patience Hell, I going to go kill something!" Wish I still had that poster,

Are you gonna run both your 315's over that table or just one? Have you ever tried a surfactant in your mix like yucca? I just started putting a pinch per 10 gallons. Interesting the effect it has on the surface tension of top layer of water. Only been doing this now for 2 weeks with nothing to report other than I think a water skipper might drown if it found its way to my mixing room. I know alot of you guys are good at making you own ferts and stuff and other than reading reverse engineering thread on this site. Does anyone have any suggestions where to look next on brushing up my chemistry... I do have to say I've been reading pretty intently a lot of the Jacks 321 threads that are out there and really like the sound of 4 cents per gallon.

Going to install the 2nd 315 in a day or so, just the ladies adjusted to the heavier light.
Don't believe I need a surfactant, have been getting very good saturation.
You need to watch and not overdo it with wetting agents, when I in the golf biz there were many issues with them from being overused. I used compost teas and EM1 and I had no issues.
I really don't want to remember my chemistry, too many years of study and working with it damn near daily.
I have only glanced at Jack's nutes.

Just did the test on the drip system after it was installed in the pots.
Had one drip line that had a small split in it at the dripper and almost sprayed the 315W lamp, shut that down quick. Also had one dripper was not dripping, the line was shut off at the manifold. And had a hole in the feed line at the pump, was just dripping nothing major. Overall pleased with the startup of the system. Did not want to over do it as the pots were still damp but checking them with a moisture meter it read just moist not wet, so all is good.
Looks as if the pressure compensating dripper's were putting out the same at each dripper, so that is good also.
I think it is going to take some time to figure out how much solution I will be needing per cycle, but right now just operating it by hand. Will be feeding mostly by hand for the first week or so with Great White and SubCulture II to get a good root system established.

This evening I will hand water the lot, with < 0,9 EC solution and again add Great White and SubCulture II. This will be the third watering since they were put in the 1 gallon coco pots and just beginning to see roots growing through the Smart Pots. I really like both SC II and GW as the results are quickly visible. It is hard not to do a daily watering but I know that is not what is best for the plants at this stage of growth, get the root system in order and that will help you care for a massive amount of growth during the veg stage.
Have seen this on about half of the pots so things seem to be going well. Not to shabby for only just over 72 hours since they went into the Smart pots.
Should see a lot of this action following today's feeding. Now these little beggars should begin their full veg cycle.

I just sent my buddy in NM an zip of BB Cheese and he got it yesterday and called, he said he has been growing for years and never get good fragrance from his grows and everything I send him smells wonderful.
He grows in soil, cheap, uses nutes like Miracle Grow and the such, have suggest many times that he up his program, but he says he is lazy. Too easy for him to go to CO and buy it.
