I figured I'd check out this thread to see what I am missing. Holy shit. You guys know how to party in here. Damn,
I'm in the US but have been there 3 times. I've got respect for the Aussie's. I don't want to go on, so short version is we were about to breech the berm from Kuwait into Iraq with sights on Baghdad. The rest of the UN wasn't going help us. The only people in the whole fucking world that came to help us were the Australian Army. They wanted to be there and proud of it. I'll never forget that as long as I live.
Any chance anyone here was there and knows what I'm talking about? Just curious.
@westcoastbee was there with me.
Hey man, my brother in law was a pilot over there doing herc runs in and out. Im from a defence family, old man was in Vietnam, granddad was WW2 and all that. While I think the politics of all this stuff is murky at best I have heaps of respect for everyone who serves. Cheers dude

It was badass. After that, others starting jumping on board to ride the wagon, but when the curtain dropped on that full moon night, it was just the two of us there.

Edit: we actually waited for the full moon night, I didn't add that in for extra dramatic effect, lol.

Funny looking vehicles were the bushrangers weren’t they? Those things are hard core. They’ve got newer ones coming in that go faster and have better range but far less protection. I’d rather a thick metal beast that goes a bit slower. Am I missing something when it comes to IEDs?

Edit: I called or an IUD which is something VERY different lol

Are you referring to Blue Diamond?
No Blue on Blue is friendly fire. Cause SAS was behind the lines they were often targeted by American jets. The American Liaison guys posted to each patrol kept the patrols safe. The Americans who did that job received a Unit citation from the aussie government at the SAS headquarters in WA after the war along with the SAS guys. They did a top job. Seems they enjoyed working with the SAS to. Was a heavily fought after role.

If you haven't heard how a SAS patrol had everyone surrender at a concrete factory by calling in a American jet to do a sonic boom over the factory then you should look into it. Pure gold!
What book was that story from ? I can remember reading it but can't for the life of me remember where
