Lighting For 2x2x4

Hey eveyone, I'm looking for a little help on picking out my lighting setup for my grow tent. I'm currently running a rigged CFL setup that in less than happy with so in gonna be upgrading that now.

I basically have my choices down to either a Quantum board, a Timber Lights 1CL, Omega Lightings 4 x 150, or last of a Sun Systems 150w Hps.

Obviously going LED has its advantages, but what I'm concerned about is height. Being restricted heightwise I'm wondering if it's better to go with the HPS, since I can have it closer to my canopy therefore giving me another 10 inches or so of vertical growth. Or do the pros of the LEDS negate the loss of canopy height?

I have a 2x2x3 tent and used 1 qb288 hlg 135w kit and got 5oz off 3 plants... No height problem at all...

Did the QB put off a lot of heat or does it run pretty cool? Only reason I ask is my main problem with my setup is trying to keep my tent at low enough temp. Living in the Southwest makes for some scorching hot summers.

What kind of LED are you running if you don't mind me asking?
I have a Mars hydro 300 and a yea tek 300. All 3 (both leds and hps)are in there, my intent was a single led on at a time, but late bloom I run all 3 lights.
The yea Tek is a 5 cob purple hue type light and as far as I can tell the best light out of the 3. I just looked on Amazon and the product details page isn't there. I don't know it the addy changed, or they don't sell it anymore. Mine is only a couple months old, so I just bought it....

I have a 2x2x4 and am using a timber 200w citizen fixture. My first grow ran into heat issues but not because of the light but my box is in my garage and it was a hot summer. Still pulled 4.5oz of great smoke from the plants.
Great light. I'd recommend @RainDan and timber all day. Outstanding customer service and a great light.

When limited vertically, you can't beat strips. I've run as close as 4" with Bridgleux EB Gen-2. http://ledgardener.com/diy-led-strip-build-designs-samsung-bridgelux/

Same, 2x2 with 200w timber. Plants are doing great.

I got my plants within 6-8 inches of my LEDs in my last 2x2x4 setup. A couple of them grew taller than expected. I did have a couple "hard" tops on the colas that I ended up snipping off on harvest day. Other than those 2 colas out of 9, the 6ish inches of space from light was not really a problem. I ended up getting just under 5oz on that grow. That was more than I got with the same lights in a 2x4x6 tent lol. Mighta been genetics, idk.

but it was down on message #92 on my post, a few pics down, you can see the all-white tips beginning to form on the two tall colas. They got bigger closer to harvest and the two colas continually grew white hairs until chop. Here's the link https://www.rollitup.org/t/2x2-with-9-1-gallon-pots-under-330w-led.971609/page-5
