Why is my ph slowly dropping after few days of reservoir change?

Anyone know why my ph would slowly be dropping after a reseravoir change? Plant seems to be eating and ph will raise but after I correct it, it continues to drop..

Ah, the r/o water.

You going to have to add some calmag first to bring up your water to 150 ppm befor you add anything at all .... Even if you plan to add more calmag you have to have a base of 150ppm to buffer ypur water.

Espsom salts for your bath also work.

There’s calcium and mag in the nutrients already.. no purple stems or signs of calcium deficiencies.. I’m dont know what else would cause this..

I do Res changes every week. I’m going to get some h202 and try and clean up the roots to see if that will help. When I do my res changes ph will rise and I have to add a lot ph down but after I add the down to about 6.0 it will never rise again only start dropping a few hours later...

I added noob kelp tea to my hydro and my pH dropped to "below 4"

in my case it was the leaf matter in the res

I agree, h2o2 and/or clean that res if you got funk

plants will grow just fine in "below 4" pH water by the way lol
just fine may mean actually not that great and shitty compared to if the pH was correct but they will survive

try this instead: southern ag garden friendly fungicide. same strain as hydroguard but a million times stronger and much cheaper.
sorry for the hijack but it works for you?
im having stem rot and the only way to control it is with pool shock or changing res every 3-4days.
i guess i will get some
thanks

What do you use to raise it? I use baking soda as my PH up and it works great to up the PH and stabilize.

It also sounds like you need to mix thoroughly and stabilize before you run the water in your system. I've noticed I had issues when I spiked my water with my cocktail and ran it vs. allowing my water to mix thoroughly, stabilize then hook it up. Just a shot in the dark.

Def take a look at the roots if you can and see what you've got going on.

You may already know this, but in case you don't.... RO water, cal-mag, nutes, PH. Despite your nutes having cal-mag, I'd recommend using some on the side to have a buffer in your water prior to your nutes. My .02

How large is your res? How much water is being used after a week before the Res change? You said your pH is around 6.0 after res change, at what EC/ppm? What is the EC/ppm of the solution when you notice that the pH has lowered through out the week?

Thx.

I am wondering if the plants are drinking more water than nutes, which might explain your issue.
