Best light for $50 or under?

Did I suggest that? Or did I specifically say its gonna have the same limitations? Still no light penetration. Even going so far as to say to use the veg time to invest in a real light?

Stop pretending your cute little reading lamp bulbs have anything to do with real grow LEDs.

Its for kids. Kids in middle school playing at growing pot. "I got almost 22grams off my plant!!" which took 3-4months and over $150 in grow costs.... cuz you saved money by not buying a grow light.

But over 3/4!! Yeah!

People on this site with the patience to do it right are pulling an ounce off solo cup plants.

If the value of your yield can not equal or surpass the cost of creating it... dont do it. just buy some weed, and save for a better system.

This isnt talking out my ass, I have run the full fucking spectrum from T8s, MH, HPS, CMH, wing reflectors, cool tubes, hoods....

Its the main reason I tell people... skip those stepping stones! Just get the good light, and a good reflector first. In the end, it saves TONS, and you dont have a mountain of "learning" gear.

Learn from others mistakes, and you dont have to make your own.

And never let anyones "This CAN be done" replace the overwhelming majority when they say "This SHOULDN'T be done"

No one get into growing for the purpose of wasting money...
You sound retarded.

Costs be under 200 to grow a lb counting nutrients. Dirt. New bulbs. Your just a failure who doesnt know what's possible.
Stfu an let the people who can do this speak.

As others have said T5 or even a large CFL, I use a 130w CFL (E40 fitting) in winter to veg under in a very small veg tent. (I use LED strips in summer).
But to get a decent yield in flower you need to spend a bit more than $50. Its an investment that will last you many years. Im not saying you have to spend $1000 bucks just a cheap MH/HPS set up is fine.

Like others before me I went cheap and nasty on lights, filters and fans and its cost me more in the end. The good gear is expensive but it lasts and the chancers of it failing at the wrong bloody time is low. Cheap tent is still going OK though.

People often say that the first grow or two is a leaning curve. Now that's true but that doesn't mean you cannot pull a decent harvest, so play to win. Lighting is second only to genetics in my mind.

You should check out the led forum here and put together your own bad ass cobs for dirt cheap. Super high quality stuff that's easy to make now that will do great and you can easily add more to as you get more cash to work with

Hes talking about one of these, totally works. a tiny 6" shitty fans keeps it nice n cool too, I veg with several when I overflow to the tent.

Bonus, you can get a 250w 3000k bulb to flower under if you cant get a high output light.

Telling you, veg under a grow light, either the T5 set or the giant CFL, but find a cheap HPS set (if your grow area can support the heat) to flower under.

If your not trying to beat records and simply want cheap light, led bulbs are a great option. Your stupid to think otherwise. Here's 2 grows the first one had 16 9w bulbs putting out 144 watts. I nearly pulled a gram per watt. I got about a quarter pound out a space no bigger than a 30x20. The other is a 19 day old auto under 54 watts of dollar store led bulbs. They're ge brand bright stik. Nothing special $4.50 for a 3 pack. The fixtures are just bathroom vanity style and can be acquired used for a couple bucks each I got mine for $5 each. Is suggest getting a 3 wire plug to ground the bad boy if u do decide to build one.

Otherwise a 400w hps or better imo. Leds technology hasn't peaked and efficiency is essentially the same as a digital ballast. You'll never get a pound off 1 1000 watt led. You can deff get a pound with 1 1000 watt hps. And if the led grow light is blurple its a fucking write off in my opinion. Useing specific light waves is Fuckin retarded your plant uses every color including green. Cheap white leds for veg or mini shit is fine but efficiency isnt ultimate. Or just get an hps and mh if u want a real light that isn't a fire hazard and doesn't have a bunch of cheap parts to it.

What's the best light I can get for flowering for around $50?
to be honest you will flower under a light for less then 50 bucks but getting buds of the plant would be a diff story there was a book years ago called growbudsforless were he got about 7 ounces off around 11-12 24 watt cfl bulbs but his grow was conditioned and he had done it before a few times just invest in a good light

How would this do?
"
Voltage/Frequency: 120V/60Hz
Lumen Output:
250W Blue-6400K: 14,000 lm
250W Red-2700K: 14,000 lm
  • Power: 250 watts
  • Expected Life Span: 10 000 hours
  • 6500 Kelvin Spectrum rating for vegetative
  • Low Heat Output & Energy efficient
  • Lumens output: 15750 Lumens
