Reduce light before harvest?

Will reducing the light help? I've seen it mentioned, but most people and guides just talk about flushing and stopping nutes. (Hempy bucket with perlite/coco)

I think I should chop next week. She got into nute toxicity mid flower, and it's throwing me off a little. Some trichomes at the top are starting to cloud, but they seem clear farther down. Normal?

I just came close to an "emergency chop". I pulled it out of the tent and it's so top heavy that it spread out and I almost dumped her on the floor! Is it normal for stems to be so week when the tent is supporting them? Hope I didn't wreck the roots. I guess I should just be happy she's so top heavy! (:

Yeah, I usually have to tie the branches off with gardening tape to support them. Top heavy is GOOD. Sometimes the top bud will ripen before the lowers. You can always do a staggered harvest and let the lowers ripen for an extra week or two.

Ive let bottom go damn near a month longer and they were as dense as the top... a lil scope is key, if you are a hobbyist or med patient where productions not king harvest no bud before its ripe...

Thanks guys. I guess there's nothing wrong with a top heavy girl... I call her Stormy. ;)
I hadn't heard of staggered harvest, good to know! I also read that most people harvest too early, so I'm keeping that in mind.

For every plant thats harvested too late 10,000 were taken early! Seed bank day count is as accurate as nute company feeding schedules! As in they arent! Always a week longer if not 2 or 3 than they say... but scoped trichs is most accurate and take samples from a few spots as it wont be uniform...

I snipped the tips off a few tiny bud leaves and had a look under 30x scope. Some are cloudy and a few have an amber color, but most are clear. How close might she be to harvest time?

Depends also on what you prefer. Early harvest means you'll get more of an "up high", late harvest means more "couchlock" and more yield. Harvest times mentioned on the seed batch are only applicable to one or two phenos but most of the time they need 1-2 weeks more. Especially sativa strains tend to need more time..
