Can LSD aggravate a heart condition

I was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse over 10 years ago. Prior to this I had always been curious to try LSD, but after this diagnosis I decided not to. But I am wondering if anyone has any real conclusive info on the subject. Please no general references, only specific and educated answers.

be very careful of the source of your acid. too many people make shit themselves and fuck it up, and add nasty shit like strychnine, which couldn't possibly be good for your heart.
acid id one of those things that effects everyone differently, and most of the time, each trip is going to be different. it can be very relaxing, or it can be a thrill ride, or it can be a very bad trip through the haunted house.
if you decide to try it, i'd make very sure the environment is peaceful, turn off the phone, play some nice music, make sure you have plenty of drinks handy....

It can kill you.

It's not the LSD per se, it's the trip itself. If you see things that get your worked up, you could quite easily have your heart start racing away and man, in your condition that's a recipe for disaster. Many people experience rapid heartbeat during a trip, especially those new to it who panic and have a bad trip.

Best steer clear of it altogether. Don't risk it.

This is the kind of info I was looking for. Thank you and I trust that assessment and will steer clear of it.

I did a lot of acid back in the day and as previously mentioned the LSD itself won't hurt your heart but adulterants or a bad trip certainly could.

I think your acid days are over but maybe a small dose of 'shrooms would give you a similar but milder experience with much less likelihood of a bad experience. Still risky but then I don't know how bad your heart issue is.

Those were the days my friend . . . :)

My acid days never started. I have never tripped unless you count my eyes playing tricks on me while I'm stoned or the occasional feeling like I'm a giant but no actual hallucinations.

The only way I would ever recommend it for you would be if your doctor told you to get your affairs in order.

Even then, I'd make sure I had a good guide. A guide is someone well versed in LSD that sets up the experience and stays with you the entire time. (Typical stuff you're going to be tripping for 8 to 10 hours.) They make sure you don't drink any alcohol or take any other drug. They'll prepare movies and activities for your first time. (Believe it or not, Looney Tunes is always a winner. First because it's familiar, secondly anything animated is simply awesome looking.)

We'd do sports as well. Shooting pool is really cool. So is dribbling a basketball. We'd do that and bet who could do it the longest. (It's not as easy as it sounds because the trails eventually turn the bouncing basketball into a solid tube.)

Things like that. Good times, fun things. Whatever you eventually do, DO NOT do it for a first time without a good guide, even if you get your heart issue fixed, just don't do it.

Most of the time you don't really hallucinate. Not in the sense that you see actual 'things'. More like weird shit going on in your mind. Colours are brighter, strange sounds and enhanced perception.

Can be a trip thru cartoonville tho but you never know until it's too late how it's going to go. I grew up in Vancouver, BC and was getting really good acid back in the late 60s, early 70s. Thousand hits of blotter for $250 and half a hit would have you talking to god. Used to shine a black light on the sheets of blotter to cut it up. Some dots were bright which meant they were well soaked and others looked dim so each hit was a different strength. Sometimes a big blob would be there like they spilled some so if you got a piece of that you could get really f'ed up. Quality control was pretty lax. :D

My first trip was a big cap of Purple Haze when I was 14. Spent the day wandering around Stanley Park with the older hippies that turned me on. By older I mean 17 -19 or so. Lots more after that. White micro-dot, orange wafer, window pane, purple double-dome etc. Even soaked blotter in a spoon of water and injected it. From earth to orbit in 5 sec flat! lol

It's the mind fuck that can really trip you out. Can make you feel like Superman or like the dregs of the world. A good friend of mine took it once and emerged different. His mind took a weird turn and he was never the same. Was raised a strict Mennonite so maybe that had something to do with it but he went off the deep end. He died a few months back and had sent me a voice call on Facebook I didn't get until after he passed. Hadn't seen or heard from him in at least 20 years. More like 30. They found him dead in his easy chair with remote in hand. Heart attack. Not a bad way to go tho.

i ate a lot of acid back when i was in my 20s, never "hallucinated" at all. got tons of visuals, walls breathing, the line on the road wiggling like a snake, clouds slowing down and speeding up......but the only thing i ever hallucinated on was good peyote, saw people as real as i was, talked to them in a language i didn't know, they told me things i can no longer remember.....

Check out the link to the pot books. There's some about acid and other hallucinogens in there as well.

I found a great spot to download FREE POT BOOKS. I downloaded a grow bible first and got lots more. Books look great and complete like the real ones I have here. No web site but just a page of links. Just right click on what you want and then "Save Link As" to download so they don't open first as some are 50+ megs. They got lots. Enjoy.

Same thing happened in high school. We were tripping with some older guys, in their late 20's even 30's. One of them a Polish immigrant, didn't speak much English and although he seemed okay at the time, his friends later told me that trip changed him and he committed suicide 6 months later.

I've done 100's of hits of LSD in my past and never had an issue. I would not recommend it with a heart condition unless you have a death wish though. At lot of it would be down to how psychologically strong you are, and if things tend to startle you or scare you or get your heart racing. On LSD you can get fixated on something (like your heart rate) and it can become a problem even if it wasn't to begin with, as you spiral into a negative state of affairs. Conversely if you are very mentally strong, not easily startled or scared, you would likely not have an issue if the dose was low enough. Not worth it to try with a heart condition though.

If you can stand elevated blood pressure and heart rate from light exercise, you should be OK as long as it is actually acid. My wife and I were just talking about this in the car tonight... when it feels like you have been tripping for ages and this has to stop now, 1 hour exactly passed since taking the acid... The first 2 hours or so are the roughest.

Sorry to hear that, FYI having a heart attack is NOT an easy way to go.

There's lots worse ways to go imo.

Screaming for weeks in a hospital bed thru an induced coma while cancer eats you a new asshole like another childhood friend of mine 5 years ago or drooling into your diapers for years while Alzheimer's melts what's left of your brain like my birth mother.

I'll take an elephant sitting on my chest for a while over either of those and that's just a couple of nasty ends. I'll be punching my own ticket before going out like that.

Just going to bed and waking up dead in the morning is the way I want to go. ;)

If you're going to do it have some good music on whenever i trip, if i use a computer the letters im typing all start dripping down the screen and paintings and posters on the walls start changing.
I went to a big music festival on acid and had 1 gram of molly which i had the whole lot to myself, everyones face in the place looked the same, i lost my new friends who got me in for free and couldnt find any cigerettes the whole time even though people siad the shops just there, pointing. i was up all day and night the day before too tripping so really needed to get some sleep but continued to listen to music, shit music sounded horrible and good music was amazing.
Heres a few tracks i like to trip to. You might hate them but you might like it.
