This was kind of a bummer week. Despite our CEO claiming that we were "going to get real busy real fast" in March when it looked as if Trump was going to levy a large tariff on South Korea, we ended up suspending one of our four shifts this week. All overtime was also cancelled.

It turns out that we just can't get enough steel to keep busy as our Canadian supplier has slapped a limit on how much we can buy from them. You see, they end up eating a lot of the tariff on Canadian steel so now they are selling it to those who aren't subject to it. We have yet to find a suitable American supplier to make up the shortfall.

Nobody has gotten laid off (yet).

Later in the week, one of our top customers (a Canadian firm) let us know not to expect any more orders for the time being. In addition to having to absorb the increased prices of the raw steel we import, they also have to pay for the retaliatory tariffs for our finished products. I am guessing they are now a valued customer of our Korean competitor.

MAGA! Have a nice weekend.

I nominate representative Jason Spencer for MAGA man of the week, it's going to be hard to top this but I'm sure there will be other worthy competitors.

Disturbing to say the least, on that note though, I've watched it twice already. There's some really good bits besides tub butt Jason. He interviewed dick Cheney, where he's pretending to be an Iranian soldier or something, fucking funny ok.

But before he was elected president, Trump repeatedly blasted 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton for the investigation into her use of a private e-mail server while Secretary of State. In fact, Trump said having a sitting president under criminal investigation would result in a “constitutional crisis.”

“She’s likely to be under investigation for criminality for a very, very long time to come,” Trump said during a Oct. 31, 2016 speech in Warren, Mich.

“We’re going to be tied up in court for the rest of our lives with this deal,” he added, referring to if Clinton were elected. “She’s not going to win the election, but I’m just saying. If Hillary is elected, she will be under protracted criminal investigation likely followed by the trial of a sitting president. This is just what we need.”
