Hi guys,

Started a new tent grow, 4x4 running 630cmh dual bulb (3k/4k). Its a soil grow, and have up to this point have ran only water with a top dressing before flower and a couple EWC/kelp teas.

I vegged for about a month, topped them to the third node, and flipped 12/12 on the 16th, so a little over two weeks now in flower.

I had no intentions on growing the Swazi, however they ended up as a freebie so I said why not. There's two in there now, had a male which I took out. The description says they are pure sativa and they certainly are stretchy fuckers.

I've got 2 pure ghost og going as well.

1st The day I flipped 12/12 - June 16th
2nd Today
3rd Little one topped herself
4th starting to flower
5th Swazi
6th Pure ghost

Would you guys suggest plucking some fan leaves??

Will update as things progress

Today will be day 21 of 12/12.

Ghost OG seem to be making new bud sites each day. Swazi is taking it's good old time (Says 10 weeks but I wouldn't be surprised if it's longer). Hopefully the stretch is almost over, don't have a big lot of room left.

Anyhow

1st - just before watering today
2nd - ghost starting to frost
3rd - small bud

Swazi don't be surprised 12 weeks. Depending on temps I've had some stretch out almost 15. It's worth it though. Watch for any foxtailing

Hotrod - The Swazi seems like it'll be a nice plant when it finishes. I tried to train as much as possible during veg but the 12/12 sent her out of control. How long do pure sativa stretch for after flip? 4 weeks+? Or will it be 10 more weeks of tieing down?

We are planning on running bro Grimm Cindy and apollo xx next batch which are also sativa heavy I believe Thinking maybe best to run them in a scrog

Have you growth anything Swazi before?

Bud, I had to kill one when it reached over 12' and was at 15 weeks. Not a Swazi. Sometimes I think heat can cause the sativas to keep stretching. I know it causes larfy or popcorn buds and foxtailing. I love sativas but they're kind of a pain to grow.

Ya must've been gutted, losing such a plant. So much love goes into them, I often worry I'm gonna snap them trying to tie them down.

This is only my second go with growing, and underestimated the stretch of sativa heavy plants. They seem happy all the same.

Heat at times has been an issue for me, but I run my light period during the night when it's cooler so it doesn't get too crazy. Humidity on the other hand during dark cycle has provided difficulties.

We are going to do one more run in this 4*4 tent, after that we've got plans to build a sealed 7*7 room with 8 ft ceilings with environment controls in place. Might even look into supplementing co2 when this happens. Its coming up with the $$$ to install everything I want lol.

Cheers hotrod

If they snap just splint and use a couple of twisties for a couple of days. Unless it literally breaks totally away. Never ever use tape.

Little tough love. She was getting a tad close to the lamps last night, little pinch and she's up reaching for the light again this evening.

I hear some say don't super crop during flower and others say it works great. I didn't have much of a choice in the matter so I guess I'll now have first hand experience to whether it makes a difference or not lol.

Ghost @ day 34. Tomorrow marks the half way point. Things are starting to chunk up a little more each day.

Think we're gonna pop alien og, Cindy xx, and 24k gold tomorrow, veg until these guys are done and toss them in to flower after harvest.

Couple of the tops starting to look tasty. If I was to go by the suggested flower time, I think I'll have another 3-4 weeks. Don't know if they'll make it ten weeks or not though, seeing some browning pistils in areas.

The lower buds are showing a little love to.

Swazi will take its time. Outdoors it can be 14 to 16 weeks...
Awesome daytime weed, for when you like a smoke but don't want to be too stoned (unless you smoke a fat pipe full).

It can stretch like nuts. I've tied a 6 foot one down to the ground, only for it to grow 6 foot long new branches down the whole length.

I found that out the hard way ANC. unfortunately the swazi didn't make the cut, it was taking up way too much space, and getting hard to control. They were freebies, so I gave them a shot.

How long did it take for yours to finish?

I was given a clone which was in hard shape, but it's come around a bit and could potentially have some good genetics?

Its only small, as she was just put 12/12 straight away. I believe she was already flowering when I got it to be honest but would like to possibly get a cut , or get some seeds? Looks more indica to me then anything else? Could I reveg her, or is it too late?

We were in winter by the time mine are done.
Strangely if I start them indoors and then grow them outdoors over winter they finish up faster.

You could always reveg after harvesting. Looks good!

I just started a grow with 630 cmh in a tent as well. Mine are in a notill bed.

@ANC - you must live somewhere fairly warm all year around? Or do you have a green house which allows you to grow all winter?? Its fridgid and frosty here come October. Lol

@Dryxi - Awesome, good news. have you grown with the 630 before? Did you go dual bulb, or DE? One mistake I made with this grow was keeping the lamp too far away during the first few weeks of flower thinking it was too intense. Nodal spacing is not exactly as tight as I would've liked, but from most pictures I've seen of OG, they are leggy to begin with. Which strains, and size bed are you going to run?

Should've elaborated more. I have 630w of CMH rather than a single 630w CMH. I have 2 315s in my 5x5 tent, 4x4 bed. I have 4 amnesia hazes (RQS) in the tent right now. Have used a single 315 for the whole thing so far and will continue to until I go to flower. I just have kept the 315 about 20-24in away from the plants, give or take. Not being extremely precise or anything about it. Just watching the plants to tell me when they need to go higher or closer. So far everything is tight.
