I've found that waterfalls work as well or better than air pumps.
I like the gurgling brook noise if the waterfalls in the tubs, I find it relaxing.

Nothing wrong with high flow waterfalls either but I have seen my best root development with gobs of air movement from below. Plus my current setup isn't utilizing plumbing large enough to accommodate the water flow I would want with no air pumps

Chiller is something I would never remove. It only benefits in my opinion.

the original question was for a quiet airpump recommendation. that's why i laughed, my waterfall is quite loud in my external res especially as the water level drops and the waterfall becomes taller. i have to touch my airpumps to see if they are running.

You do understand that those air bubbles coming from the air stones, even if they were right in the middle of your root ball, do not receive air/o2 from them, right? A bubble is a layer between air and air but in water, it's a layer between water and air. They don't mix, and won't be "popped" until it reaches more air, which is on the surface.4th one I've purchased

Open hoses bro, such a high volume if air the roots are in air half the time then surrounded by water when the ginormous bubbles burst
