Cooking with Cannabutter

Hey guys I made up a batch of butter a few days ago, and the night I made it, I just washed down a few chunks with milk (yuck lol) and it hit me pretty hard, not mind blowing or anything but I only used trim and skud so I wasn't expecting PHENOMENAL or anything but anyway it was definitely a nice noticeable stone. So the next night I made a chicken curry pasta and sauce (basically powder pasta milk water and butter, simmer until ready lol bout ten minutes) and that didn't seem to affect me as much. Would I have degraded the thc or simmered some of it off? Should I add the butter right at the end instead so it doesn't have time to boil off?

Yes add the cannibutter late if you can or keep temps down as you make the sauce separately from cooking the chicken. I might use un-fortified butter or oil for any frying or high heat cooking and add the marijuana extract materials late to the sauce so as to not boil off THC and terpenes. Using the infused butter alone will not create "black out" levels of components. That's why brownies work so well, you can add straight ground decarbed bud and the PVB to the batter made with cannibutter for a medical dose result.

Yeah but cannabutter tastes shit in brownies it goes nicely in the chicken curries I do, but why do you say you can't get a good high from butter alone? Considering how nice it is just from skud if it was top shelf bud I'd think it'd be mind-blowing

But I'll definitely put it in last now, thanks for that :)

Thanks for the new tips. Really impressed to know the new use of cannabis. I will definitely try it.
Hey CBDguru, I'm assuming your choice of moniker tells us that you are medical user looking for better ways of ingesting more CBD. My grow (white widow) is purposely harvested late (50% amber tricomes) for higher CBD content. I grow for medicine to help me with ankylosing spondylitis (the hunchback's disease). My homegrown has not yet been at the THC/CBD levels that one can buy from the pro-growers so I have needed to find more concentrated ways of using it. I'm especially happy with my 3x brownie recipe in which I triple up the THC/CBD values by using canibutter and PVB (previously vaped bud) along with a full ounce of my white widow in the batter. See my recipe in that section. I have a feeling it will help you.

Just do the math GGA, I don't care if your starting material is 25% THC, the two tablespoons used in a batch of brownies dispersed into 9 or 12 servings won't provide any triple digit doses. I use a magic butter machine, which is very efficient, but cannot produce triple digit values in a couple tablespoons. Unless you eat the whole thing or wash down a full stick of butter. I find the recipe's online a joke. None provide the triple digit values I need to medicate (about 150 to 200MG) again, unless you eat the whole thing. YUCK!

Right well that makes sense don't get me wrong, but I think you need a lot stonger than me . I'd be shocked if I need triple digit numbers I only smoke 2-3 gram a day so my tolerance can't be TOO high haha but I'd love to try your meds probably have me head in the clouds all week :)

Dude, by the numbers if you are using 2 or 3 grams a day you are using as much as I do. If your stuff is only 10% THC then one gram (1000mgs) contains 100mg of THC, so you are ingesting 2 to 3 hundred Mg's a day. The only difference is that I may be dosing more often than you. Usually twice a day for me. So Grassisgreener......your a pot head! Welcome to the club!

Yeah turned out nice :) if you add the butter right at the end the effect is stronger but you do taste it more, but it seems to go well with the overall flavour :) this is the one I use :)Screenshot_20180728-221625.png
