Shit happens. In the 16-17 spring crop There were two good Powernap X Sinmint Cookies males. After the split, I had one and my veg buddy had the other. He gave his to me. I had already done single limb pollination on an Ass Cheese and a GdR down at the STL patch using my PN X SMC male. But I liked the looks of his even better. I had a couple of CP1 X B&S that I used his male on. After I had cut the shoots off, I "killed" it by cutting it off just above the ground.

Fast forward 5 weeks, and the GdR had seeds throughout the plant, not just the one limb with the blue bread twist tie. I looked around, and found the Powernap X Sinmint Cookie daddy had come back from the dead, grew more shoots and made more pollen. It was about 15-20 feet from the GdR.

I did get lucky in that both were the same strain.
Haha that guy got you huh?

That tells us to always remember the nice old world mafiosso saying:

No doubt. Up by the roots from now on.

But I saw on someone's thread where they had thrown a male on the compost pile, and it kept growing. Destroy by fire may be the only safe method.

gonna put about 6 of my 21 unsexed plants into 12/12 tonight for sexing only. then will clone and get them into hydro.

2 pre98 bubba's
1 matanuska thunderfuck
1 king tut
1 ass cheese
and
1 chem 91
You can just cut clones and throw them directly under 12/12, they will root and show sex at the same time... save a few days figuring shit out.

lol, i hear you. if i had any open hydro spots i would do that.

won't have any open spots for flowering for 3-4 more weeks.

glass of water somewhere in the light, replace the water daily you just need a branch off each plant. Take the cut where it is soft enough to snap clean off. I forgot the name for that kind of tissue, but it roots within a week.

too much work, changing water everyday, lol...

there is no rush here. i have an additional 18 unsexed plants waiting in veg also. i am just sexing ahead of time so when spots are available i stick the correct plant in place.

i also already have 5 hydro plants in veg, 2 of which are females.

on a side note, i put two durban poison clones in water in the frig. gonna keep them for months and then root them. i have read this is sort of a stasis condition where unrooted clones can be kept long term.

They even stay small in clone domes, it just gets testy keeping the mold away

Anyway, I would suggest you focus on fewer plants.., It is no fun when it turns into work.
I work with only one cut year in and out. People know exactly what they get from me, and it is not that I'm the only one running this cut around here, but mine is the only clean grown shit around.

It is actually a rarity that I pop seeds even, I am looking for a good landrace male so I hit up a handful of beans.

thanks, i have focused on clones and selective cuts for years, i am branching out..

ANC Bro Hi!
Dunno if I gotya right. One cut year?
So you grow only one "genetics/clone" per year?

Mate Me and Sour Wreck here are pheno phreaks.
I.could not even think about only using one cut per Year. We R addicted to selecting I guess.lol
Yes one cut is uniform and all but sorry no chance for me. Maybe if its a elite clone I maybe would fill the box only with it if I like it. But I definitly would have a male at hand to dust it.

I like the idea of rooting and sexing at the same time. Will give it a shot.

@Sour Wreck
You just could use clones in ultra small pots with soil or in a lil tray. Just place it on the dead space of a hydro unit. No big deal.

Peace

If you could get to them at the same time everyday, cover one limb tip with a candy bag after 12 hours of lights on. Take it off after lights out. The covered limb tip should start to flower in 10-14 days.

i work full time, lol

anyway, appreciate all the ideas. here is what i have currently sexing. couple of the veg plants are little rough. left them too long in solo cups.

Yep, exodus cheese, year in and out.
Had a exodus cheese from greenhouse 2014 was nice and good smoke.
Crossed it with a cracy qleaner male.
But the female I kept from last years outdoor testgrow doesnt impress me in budsize at all indoors and outdoors. Good thc output ok, but not enough yield for my taste. Kind of wasting my space. Lol.
Not every cross is good so the motherplant will jump over the blade after this run.

I would love a original clone of exodus cheese. Heard great things from uk friends.

You ever heard about " industrial cheese " ?
Also a clone only.
Got told that it is totally killer!

If you have something special in cloneform Bro keep it alive!
I hate myself for being stupid enough to loose a couple of special cuts I owned in the past. Shit!

Peace

yeah everybody and his mother tries making clones with either UK cheese or exodus.
My exodus cut was sneaked in from the UK in shipping tubes, got it from friends who were running it.

Most of the very quick running strains are "smaller yielders", They do make up for it with the short run though.
You can do 7 back to back flower runs in a year using the clone.

I'm starting my swazi x exodus cross. THC is coded for on more than one place in the genome.
One of the easier ways to increase potency is to breed with plants from far away.

If you cross two plants coded in more than one place for THC, some of the offspring will have both the genes and they will have increased THC (a similar mechanism is what fucks many of the hemp farmers up). The best way to get your strain up in THC is crossing with some of the original hash plant, but it is not very original.
