Where to get good deal on grow cab?

Anyone have experience with buying a grow cabnet? (Like garage stealth type) Or know a decent place to get a good deal on one.

Thrift store for large armoire then DIY the crap out of it!

Last time I looked, the premade ones were all really expensive with poor ventilation and crap lights. Lighting and ventilation is everything, except genetics, which you won't have any money left over for if you blow it all on a super expensive cab which will require redoing the ventilation and replacing the lights anyway.

If you are in a legal state, check craigslist or the like because maybe someone is getting rid of one. It would probably still require some work but that would be the only way to get a good deal on one.

Yeah. I am thinking if I can get the cab, i can diy a nice set up. I got everthing but the cab. Only expense would be hardware and foam ect...

The decent ones I seen online were $2,500 OR more for everything. If i could find one where I just add lights. Exaust fan. Filter, vents, would be great. One thats like a empty grow tent but with metal. Maybe I will call the company and see if I can buy just the cab???

Don't buy anything from a company that makes grow cabs. They are a bunch of bullshit designed to take money from people who don't know any better.

Just build one out of wood. Or have a metal shop weld you something up and work from that.

Thanks for the advice. The metal shop Idea is a great one. I would do wood but i am not good at putting doors on. I like the fire proofing better with metal also.

go to garage and yard sale, thrift stores....even auctions. it may take a while but the perfect unit is out there, you just have to find it

If you are dead set on metal, check out 2nd hand office furniture stores and 2nd hand industrial supply stores(industrial shelving, etc.). You might be surprised at what you can pick up at one of these places.
If you want out cheap search armoires and tv entertainment centers on craigslist, LSN, FB Marketplace, etc. You can find something for free if you look long enough. I got an $1800 armoire for free off of craigslist that I may eventually turn into a stealth cab.

ginger just reminded me of the "property allocation center" at the university. most universities will have an office somewhere that will sell left behind stuff from dorm rooms, worn out equipment....lockers and storage shelves.....call up the local U and ask about it

I will check those ideas out. I am sure I can find something used to work good. And I bet I can save more than 1/2 of the money it would cost new.

I would advise to get your cab before you get your components...it is easier to fit you components to your cab rather than fit your cab to your components.

I bought a grandmas secret garden before I knew WTF i was doing. What a waste of money. As was said find a good cabinet from a second hand store and get a cheap light and a small scrubber and kerpow. Awesome cab for low cost.

Cheap light like 2 X 50 watt citizens or a 135 watt quantum board or a mars would probably work well in a small space. Heat is the enemy in a cab.

The secret garden is good to start plants in. Or grow 60 grams a cycle. My tent and 315 CMH with filter cost about 50 bucks more and it can do 500 grams a cycle. Go figure

Yeah, i already got every style of light from cfl to mh/hps, leds. So i can do 2 cabs one for flower and a smaller for veg and clones. I can put the side by side and have a intake and out take together. I really wouldnt need a odor control for the veg and clone one. I may run a small ozone thru the exaust just for piece of mind.
