Yeah. I want to do topping to get 8 main colas each time now. Not a fan of scrog because I like to have the options to turn and move plants when needed. I want to veg them another month and finish them in 8 gallon containers.
Funny coincidence I have some feminized 'OG' and some fem 420 on the way myself. Ordered last week.
I'll probably do a journal for the ones on the way.

Mini Update : i finally got a good amount of pollen . I applied it to 2 of the lowest budsites on both plants with a tiny paint brush. I tried to really get it on there because i wont be doing this again during this grow.. i got the pollen thismorning but waited until lights out to apply it.. that way theres no fans or air movement..ill keep fans off for a few days but there are fans in my lights. Right before the lights come in tomorrow im going to spray them pretty good with water so any remaining pollen doesnt float around .. hopefully this works. Its my first time trying to breed . My biggest worry is keeping the pollen only where i applied it until fertilization is complete. I think i took proper precaution and i feel ok about it. Excited for the results of this grow overall, but still ready to start a new one asap

Nice .. i agree i like to move my plants to but scrogging makes it nearly impossible to do without it being a hassle. I cant wait to start my 'OG'. My next grow will probably be the OG Fem, Girls Scouts Cookies Fem, Haze 1 regular , and nirvana mystery seed regular .. possibly a few of the seeds im trying to breed now.. im REALLY looking forward to it

I like to extract the plant form the grow room to some place cool and calm

scrape up the pollen laid bare over night on the mirror

and dab with a cotton bud into the sperm then onto her ovaries

often if their is a risk I'll cover the rest of the plant with a BATH TOWEL

once all the dabbing is done, I favor the lowest bud sites

I wait 30-45mins then water spray heavy the entire plant

move her to a sunny windy place for 30mins

then back with the other girls after 2-3 hours

the towel and water is to control any loose pollen

good luck

Thanks, great advice! Can never be too careful with this pollen .. its probably incredibly easy to ruin an entire harvest in a matter of minutes and its the on thing that cant be fixed or reversed.

Nothing much to update on.. buds are getting bigger just a waiting game now.. my bigger plant seems alot farther alomg and could be done in the next 4 weeks y the looks of it. Lots of cloudy triches and a few ambers but not enough to chop..maybe enough to start a nice long flush..people like to do 14 days.. id like to do 30.. i want a really clean flush for a really clean product with a nice burn. The aurora indica has a while still. She'll starr fattening up soon, but her buds a pretty small for the moment..
Heres some quick pics i took today20180526_110737.jpg 20180526_110816.jpg 20180526_110841.jpg 20180526_110857.jpg 20180526_110948.jpg 20180526_111012.jpg 20180526_111034.jpg 20180526_111231.jpg 20180526_110911.jpg 20180526_110933.jpg

20180526_105812.jpg 20180526_105837.jpg Also, i my OG glue fem seeds came in the mail.. i destroyed one with scissors while getting to the seedds.. tragic... this will be the last pack of seeds i get for a while. I am in the process of trying to breed so with the collection i have i can probably go a while b4 i need or want new genetics.

We have seeds! .. the pollination was successful.. i can just tell.. on the aurora indica the pollinated buds look a little different. They seem swollen and i can literally see the lumps in the shape of seeds.. they also feel very dense and harder then normal to the touch. .. same thing on the other plant except they dont FEEL as hard.
Below, we have one of the pollinated aurora indica. It was pollen from a skunky indica male. You can see the seedlike shapes forming already
20180529_164800.jpg Below is my sativa dominant ( im going purely off of looks ) . It was pollinated with the same skunky male . Notice how pretty much all the hairs are orange? Good sign of pollination .. its harder to see the shapes on these 2 branches but if u compare it to another bud from the same plant, it may be easier to see..

** HERE ARE COMPARISON SHOTS**
MORE WHITE THAN AMBER HAIRS
NO LUMPY, SEEDY SHAPES IN THE BUD

20180529_150420.jpg 20180529_150433.jpg Mini Update: its been hot this past week and we haven't put our a/c's in yet so any tips on keeping temps down would be helpful. I hooked up a small dehumidifier but ive been having the tent door opened up during the day so its not doing its best job but keeps it around 50 to 55 percent.. closing the tent would help but then the heat becomes too much.. i went from hovering around 68-75° to a now 80-85° .. they seem ok but its only going to get hotter and i need a quick fix.. i didn't want to spend the money but may need to consider proper ventilation and a carbon scrubber and 4 or 6" inline duct fan..the smell is getting to the living room now anyway.. money is tight at the moment and id have to order the supplies anyway so if u have ANY kinds of easy quick tips on lowering temps, please share....

Anyway i cant help but thinking my bigger plant is almost done ( as far as looks go)
I checked trichombs over the weekend and i saw alot of clear trichs with cloudy tips and a few ambers here and there.. my instincts are telling me to start a flush very soon but i flipped on 4/20 which means im only 5 weeks into flower. Am i being hasty or can a plant am i right in thinking 2 to 4 more weeks.. which means this sativa dominant strain would finish in 7 to 9 weeks? Does this all seem right.? Sorry about all the questions. just dont want to fuck up after coming so close to the finish

Unless you do one of those diy a/c units on YouTube out of a cooler, regular old a/c is the only way to effectively lower temps. Good job not putting the dehumidifier inside. Those put out serious heat. Just make sure you have inlines for intake/exhaust and you should be fine.
Been there done that with hps. Main reason why I decided to try LED and honestly much better temp ranges. I know a lot of growers still stand by MH/HPS but unless you have everything perfect for climate control they can easily make a tent go to 90 degrees.

Thanks for the reply ColoradoCheshire. I've seen those coolers a while back. I've totally forgotten about them. Looks like its time to purmt the a/cs in.. ill be wrapping up this grow in four weeks tops.. the aurora indica may go a few weeks longer because the other plant had many pre flowers. It kicked into to flower 2 - 4 weeks before the aurora, Which is why its much closer to finish.

You can go by trichs or overall lack of continued stacking for indicators the plant is done, but recently I've been taking a note from some people getting better results than I at harvest time. Patience is key, and you want to wait until the calyxes have fully swelled. It can take an extra 2-3 weeks beyond what you would feel is right, natural anxious feelings to trim and get those juicy flowers in ya face. It'll give you much denser nuggets. Just make sure you keep the RH under 45 percent. Easiest way I found in the past is keep the dehumidifier at the tent door. Keep the door as tight around the face of the unit and make sure the exhaust it puts out isn't getting near any intake fans.
I'm a little surprised you're having RH issues, considering mine only show up when I'm running SoG for more than 10 plants....
Humid area where you live naturally maybe???

I live about 3 or 4 hours from NYC in the tri state area or capitol region if u will.. it can get humid here but it isnt an all the time thing..that's great advice about the dehumidifier! Im 100% trying that.. thanks alot!

HELP.. i keep it clean, so idk how but I've spotted thrips. I also see damage from them on the leaves. . The aurora indica, however, seems 100% unaffected. It must have som natural resilience to pests. I digress, how, how, HOW can i get rid of these things this late in flower and will they kill my crop? Please respond if u have experienced thrips!

These photos were VERY hard to capture so they aren't perfect . I hope you still enjoy them..
Bit of coarse, they come with a question.
These are from the top of some of the buds so, using these photos as a reference, would it be accurate to say np more than 30 days of flower AND should i consider starting the flush?

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP WITH THIS GROW!! It makes me happy to have a place to exchange this type of information freely.

Trichs look good. Wait until you see some more clouding. As far as thrips, never encountered them myself. Only ever have had fungus gnats which are a pain in the ass themselves. Only guess I can offer, do you ever go to your room after playing around outdoors? Only thing I can think is maybe they were brought in from elsewhere. I was getting gnats for a while because my local grow shop had soil poorly stored for a while and had gnats in the soil from the get go.

I may have came drom the backyard directly to the tent twice..i also had grocery store plants in my tent for someone.. i think they could've also come from one of those .. i asked around the forums and i should be ok since im about 3 or 4 weeks from harvesting her.. luckily they dont seem to like the aurora indica so after i harvest the one with thrips ill wipe down the tent really good.. after some research, i found out they are not all that interested in buds. They suck the sap out of the leaves tho and with a 2 to 3 week flush approaching, they wont have any sap to suck from yellowing leaves.. atleast im hoping this will be the case

I did sum defoliating and there was alot of "sugar" on the leaves.. I didn't wany to just throw it out so i made a small batch of cannabutter. It tasted very woody/nutty.. i put a out a table spoon on slightly toasted bread about a half hour ago.. i didnt ecpect much but its giving me a really mellow feeling. Its not like smoking and im not super high. I just feel.... good. May try more later. Idk if ill make butter with my havest trim..might do bubble hash or rosin wax20180603_064552.jpg 20180603_064458.jpg 1528025607350-822881886.jpg
