DIY with Quantum Boards

First , this was done on accident ( sort of ) because the GG4 needed room to grow.
The 3x3 it WAS in are occupied by the mephisto and blue dream and got crowded out.
It was put in the Mylar lined room with the last harvest plants I posted . So it barely was in light spread.

But for a number of weeks it has been growing on the FRINGE of the Quantums footprint .
It was never fully under panels. Panels are hung at a static height with only the 4000k with ratchet ropes , so she stayed with half in half out kind of lighting. I do spin it around once in awhile but mostly she is lit as shown.

She is growing well and is a big girl. It is " technically " an open space but do not use optics . It's just that gluing of optics to board that really stops me. Anyways it kicks on 6 to 6 pm ( I get home just before lights out ). And check her before sleepy time. Yeah I could have TRAINED her weeks ago but I didn't..........

So if anyone wonders about corners and edges of the quantum light , it seems to do the job ... The solos are from a cup challenge on another thread. Popping more for a SEA OF SOLO kind of grow. That one is getting chopped couple days and will line up 12 more under that area.

Are the QB120s ever coming back in stock? I have 6 to put into a 4x4 veg tent, but was wondering whether, at about 50w/board, I could perhaps use a couple more (8 total, with 2 HLG-240H-C2100 drivers), what do you think?

Thanks!
They go up to 70 watts a board, but even at that you might want a bit more light for a 4x4' (6x 70w = 420w or 26.25w a square foot)

If you cant find any QB120s (check amazon), you might be able to get a small driver and run 2x qb132s with the 6x qb 120s. Cant use the same driver though which sucks.

But if you can get 8-10 of the QB120s in your 4x4, you'll be cooking dude. You'll have 560-700 watts and it will be so fucking uniform and penetration will be suburb. 420w is a bit light though man.

It's his veg tent, bro.

Oh shit. I missed that.

Well in that case, 420 watts is plenty lol! 300 watts running them at 50w a board should do it too. I might do a little more than 300w for veg in a 4x4, but that's just me.

Thought he was going for flower in there.

In veg, 500PPFD is about the max the plants will be able to fully use. Hell, im at around 500ppfd in veg and by the end of the 18 hour veg cycle the leaves get droopy from oversaturation. 25 watts a square foot will definitely deliver 500PPFD at 12-24".

I got a good idea from a friend, I now stick a cople hanging baskets in the corners of my tents. I use them to grow whatever random strains I'd like to try lol. These are Sugar autos

Sorry if i am stupid or too stoned, but why not just put the pot on the floor lol? What benefit does hanging it have? Just curious.

I use them along with the pots on the floor. Taking advantage of the reflective lighting and space. I don't even care how much the yeild, its all free bud lol! I gained an extra 120 grams this way in a tent that gave me over 300 grams ( dry of good Indica bud! )
almost a pound of bud with very little plant training!

This technique works best when your growing small to medium plants or SOG

9 of them in a 3x3 grid would be just about perfect for a 4x4.

If i run 9 x QB 288 3k on a hlg- 320h-54a and i wanted to use this exact same set up with 9 x Qb 304 3.5k , could someone tell me which driver i would need ?

I have forgotten how things work, but say i used a HLG-320H-C2800 does this mean that my 9 boards would divide the 2800 mA and only get about 300 mA each ?

I am using a 135w and have it dialled down to the lowest setting at the minute.

I am growing two autos which are 23 days old.

When should I start increasing the wattage and is there an advised plan for this?

Thanks

Hello everybody! I decided to get back into growing and I want to go QB! I haven't been into the grow scene for about 6 years. I to do a small grow in a 3x3 tent with led which i have never used before. After doing all the research about the burple light like vitaspectra and mars hydro because i don't have $1000+ to get the high end light I finally stumbled upon DIY quantum boards. Like I said before I want to do a 3x3 with 4 qb132's @3000k or 3500k. The only thing is I can't find these things anywhere!! Any idea when the 4x qb 132's will be back in stock on Amazon or any of your retailers? @Stephenj37826

Everytime I think that i have the light that's right for my grow, something else comes along... I have a tent that's 2x2x3,I'm new to this and I want to grow the best weed with the least problems... I really need the best light for my small tent and qb's are starting to look like the best way to go...so would the 288 kit times two be too much?
