320w QB or 315 CMH

how about a link to your study that proves this?
You claim to have 3 scientific papers showing that UVB increases THC. All of them should show this.

The question is just plain ridiculous though. You have got to be kidding me that you need proof that UVB dose matters for THC increase. Really shows how desperately you are clinging to beliefs rather than facts.

Hey so I've read a few post claiming the QB are better than the timber grow cobs. (the timber grow cobs look sexy though). Is this simply because of price or is there another reason?

Bad Karma, so the question then becomes, how much better? Does the quantom board yield a significant amount more at a marginally lower flower quality? Or is the "drop" in quality is so small that it is off set byhigher yields. And if QB LEDs can produce higher yields, how much consistently does it produce these numbers. Further consideration should be given to the seed. Are these numbers hit by fems, or autos?
UV can increase THC production by up to 30%.

Here's an article from an LED MAKER , telling you why you should use UV-B supplemental lighting if you use LEDs otherwise you won't get top shelf quality compared to other lighting sources.

"Growers have realized an increase of up to 30% THC percentage by using supplemental UVB light but the actual mechanism was not well understood."

Well I've been trying to get a hold of the guys at growers lights for about two weeks now, calling once or twice a day. I left 3 voice mails, and about 5 emails... No response. I placed an order for the 320qb and no emails... Nothing. They are out of Austin just a 40min drive from me, I can easily pick up the kit. I got tired of being ignored.

I emailed them to just cancel the order and literally within 5 minutes it was canceled!! That's what I call customer service!

I have the 315 cmh on the way $450!!! Ouch!

And I think I might try the timber grow cobs. I'll see.

Why didn't you just go through HLG site? I ordered my boards from them with no issues and there on rollitup all the time.

Lol why would anyone pay $320 for a CMH 315w light when you could build a 320w LED light for the same price and BLOW the cmh out of the water

edit: I know op is just doing it for comparison sake but damn.... I couldnt justify spending more than $150-200 on a CMH

I mean shit, you can get a top of the line 1000w HPS setup for that price.......

I ended up pricing everything with thr ballest I want AND a both Phillips bulbs for $430 so 20 bucks less and an extra bulb 31k and 41k Phillips. Called hydro builder and they were awsome! They canceled my order but I will be buying from them in the future. As for the QB I will be placing an order though HLG in a week or so. I' llike to try both lights in two tents. Eventually which ever light I like most will be my main light and the other will be a veg light.

Idk, I feel like these lights should not be cheap out on, extra safety features and all. By the time you price the cheap set up with both Philips bulbs you'e not saving much and might be skimping on safety.

All my CMH buddies use cheap CMH lights. The philips bulb is a must (because of the double jacket) but the hood and ballast can be cheaped out on. Worst case scenario is the cheap ballast causes the bulb to burn out too fast.

I'd at least look at second hand CMH setups off craigslist and what not. A 315w CMH is NOT worth more than $200.

Too bad, if you needed more lights I'd simply build you some... But getting the PCB's I can't buy 1 at a time without the cost being retarded.

I mean, it's not like the 315 is going to produce a peanuts style Christmas tree... Lol

If you think about it that'
how much I paid. About $220 for thr ballast and hood. The Phillips bulbs 31k & 42k took the rest. I'm happy with my decision to just do two tents. Going back and forth was stressing me out.

what's even more ridiculous is your patently false claim that UV reduces yield. and then you have no proof either of your baseless claim? and then mock me for posting a scientific fact. dude, you're funny.

too bad you are in TX. i would have sold you my Phlips 315 ballast for dirt cheap. you'd need 240v to run it though.
