Set up until roots hit water...?

Hiya
Im starting out with DWC. The roots (or rather root) has come out of the Rapid Rooter type plug but im unsure about what to do next, i cant really find a definite answer. Some sources say have the water level to the bottom of the netpot and have the airpumps running, others say have the water pump pumping water into the hydroton until roots come out, and then ditch the water pump and turn on the air pump.
How do you guys manage this intermediate stage between seedling and having a fully running system with roots in the water?
Cheers!

Yep i like to do the same

I get my roots to about 4 inches long and then snip the tip. It will cause it to branch out . (Optional)
Then let it grow in the cloner till the roots are big enough to transplant into 5 inch net pots.

I make a 3/4by 3/4 inch hole in the bottom
Its small enough to not let my growstones fall through. But big enough to where i can gently pull the roots through the hole and hit water :)

Hope it helps good luck

Best practice is to let the rooting plug fill out with nice roots. 10 days or more from first leaves. Let it get some size before going into a DWC.
