Soil king big roots?

First I have heard of it . . . Where have I been lol.
I had some family from Cali bring me a bag of big roots to the east coast. They swear by it. It was a 1.5 cubic bag so I did an indoor run. 2 months veg and 2.5 months of flower. Started from seed into final pots. They told me to just add water so I did. Very good soil. I was very impressed with it. Prob some of he best tasting smoke I've grown. I've been a roots organic guy for years, but I think this would give it a run for the money. Wish I could find a dealer near me. Little pricey from Amazon. Plus not a fan of having soil mailed to me. Rather drive down to the hydro store. I'd def run it again no doubt. Apperantly it's mainly on the west coast. They had me check out his videos online. Check out "big roots" on YouTube . The guy is def a character.

I’m growing with it right now . Pretty happy so far. I met the owner last year here in Alaska so I bought some and I’m just now trying it out . Water only but heard they just came out with a top dressing for flower. Here’s what my transplant looked like tonight . Healthy as can be. I should have taken a photo of the bottom. Bright white and growing like crazy

Branded dirt is still dirt, to me. It'll be sucked dry in a season and be just more potting soil...
But if it works good, so be it.

Buying this soil just bit me in the ass. First bag I opened a cloud of whiteflies and fungus gnats burst out of the bag. Took the other bags outside and opened them, same problem. Now tent is infested from the first bag. All plants will be destroyed tonite and tent shut down. Sent them an email and they have ignored me with no response. Great fuckin customer service. BEWARE!

I’m not too impressed anymore either. They started showing signs of needing nitrogen. And for a soul that’s not supposed to need feeding it sure as hell did. I fed them some Neptune’s harvest fish and see weed fertilizer and been giving them earth worm casting tea and foliar spraying them with it as well and they are looking great. But i wasn’t expecting to have to feed them food, I mean the soil is EXPENSIVE! Here in Alaska it’s $35 for 2 cubic ft, so im never buying it again. And thier new flowering formula is probably the same.

Not the case here. its pre amended and I personally have been able to reuse it after harvest.

technically you could. but its not the end all to organics. when nutrients are used within the soil they need to be replenished some how... i.e top dressing and amendments
so it should go without saying sooner or later your gonna have to feed it something.

I've been running the big rootz for 2 years now and I just got hit with thrips.
Only areas affected were the areas I recently transplanted with big rootz.
I did a soil drench of purecrop1 to kill larve and a ipm spray at lights out. After some search bar action I found this thread and hearing about the common findings of bugs im mind blown... It's time to look for a different soil.
