Howdy ladies and gents...

I would like to announce my plans for future reference purposes.

I see a lot of people in the forums and all over the net, also in the "real" world, searching for a good ol' Road Kill Skunk. Well, unfortunately all of those attempts are pretty much failed efforts and a wasted paycheck of a hard working mans hard earned income.

Which brings me to this thread.

I am just an ol' country boy and I have been growing the good herb for a good 16 years. I have had a many of up's and a many of downs along my way. But the one good thing that never fails me, is the friendship I have with the local Old School Kentucky Road Kill Skunk. I have visited Colorado, I have lived in California just a few miles from the triangle. In all my years I have NEVER seen what we have floating around here in the Appalachias ANYWHERE else in the the entire US of A... The Skunk funk that exists in my neck of the woods.....

It is legend. Lots of people from med and rec states have told me suprisngly, that have had the opportunity to toke it, that they had never seen such a thing where they're from. Don't get me wrong I have seen some great skunk out and about in my years, but you know what the issue is with that? There is a sweet note always present and the potency is always lacking. It doesn't turn my stomach and it doesn't water my eyes... The smell, the taste, nor the high.

That brings me to this... In the near future I plan to take truest, funkiest, skunkiest, twisted, one and only (mark my word), LEGENDARY Kentucky Road Kill Skunk and release her to the public. For the first time, since 1970, when she had originally appeared here, she will she working her way to explore the World and make everyone a bit happier with their lives. She is NOT gone. She still exists, but she is planted here, no where else, as her name suggests, she is ROAD KILL.

What had sparked my interests in this particular motive originally, was that I happened to stumble upon post after post, thread after thread, of people on the hunt, for that acrid fermented ZERO sweetness road kill skunk that will have a fixed grin on your face that is uncontrolled, eyes red as the flames of hell, and the deepest euphoria you could ever imagine all in less than 2 tokes. It seems as if it has ceased to exist anywhere else but here and I really did not know exactly how rare it truly was outside of the Appalachia area. Well, I want to correct that issue. I want it to be abundant and famous, just like it was meant to be. She is very sacred to me and I have a love for this specific strain that none other compares... I want breeders of all forms and shapes to work her out and I want her tail raised high in the air, spraying each each and everyone of you right in your face leaving you dazed and breathless for words all while gagging on the euphoria wishing it would never leave. Trust me, you'll be glad she got ya when she is finished with you.

This here Skunk is the real deal folks... A HALF gram of this, double wrapped in your vehicle for less than 5 minutes will remain to linger well into the next day.

Honestly in my years of experience, there are TWO pheno present in the local legend. One has lime green leaves, double serrations with long skinny fingered fans and grows medium to tall and finished outdoor in late October but taken best in early November. She smells of straight pure acrid road kill skunk skunk, more on the fresher skunk side of things (think literally driving down the road on a hot humid night and driving over a freshly butchered skunk)... Yes that smell to the exact. No sweetness at all and after a good cure you get the same smell that makes itself present with the taste as well. Although after the cure it will have a slight smell of strong stale old black coffee lingering lightly in the background but road kill still dominant. Buds are very resinous, sticky and frosty. Hard but spongie and has an array of colors ranging from lime green fading into dark green and almost brownish black colored spots here and there. The high is unbelievably potent. It never fails to make your eyes a bright red color with a sheet of watery gloss laid on top of the flame. Very euphoric and up and in an odd way extremely relaxing at the exact same time. The high is as rare as the strain... Its very unique and "old school" (think skipping school back in the high school years getting blasted on the old school skunk, that good feel you can't hardly get anymore in today's weed) you won't get it out of any other strain. Not to me anyway and the many around here that has smoked her. She has NO ceiling.

The second pheno is medium to tall as well but more on the medium Dr of things. She has darker and wider leaves, sharp serrations and long fingers as well. She finishes just a bit earlier than the first pheno (late Spetember- October) and basically has the same smell only you can add mildewed gym socks, onions and chemical to that smell as well with a heavy hit of musk. The high on this one is a bit heavier but not as euphoric. More stoning than uplifting and can make you extremely confused in large doses. I prefer the first pheno but many indica lovers would be blown by this one...

So my plans are to get the seeds and throw them in with an already established "pheno #1 female" and let them do their thing, a huge stinky, sticky, skunk funk orgy... Open pollination basically. Then work the seeds from there. There is an old man in my area, much more experienced with this strain than I, obviously since he was one of the originals back long ago that assisted in bringing her and spreading her across the , he claims there to be more than the 2 phenos that I peronsally know.

So this is going to be an interesting break into the cannabis world and I am excited to announce I will contribute this to you folks. It will take time and work and my plans are later in the year. Stay tuned, ill be around the forums... But I promise, she is on her way... Try not to vomit when you meet her, she is known for tickling that part of the nervous system and she's make me sweat on a few occaisions... Not only in her acrid but lovingly smell but her high is just damn intense!

I personally think the whole "road kill skunk" thing is overhyped. I don't really believe there was one true "road kill skunk" strain but more of a certain terpene profile that probably popped up in various strains that was eventually bred out for "fruitier" flavors when they were in style.

Not to knock down your project I say go for it and that there's definitely a market for it right now. Any kind of revitalization of old school strains is good in my book as recent breeding has bottlenecked us into the same old rehashed flavors and types. Infusing old school flavors into the current gene pool is never a bad thing.

I assure you its definitely out here in Ky and it is not a myth. You could be correct, there may not be "one certain roadkill strain" but there is the one and only certain roadkill here in Ky that will not be found anywhere else in the US at least, and within 3 counties is kept only to the local commercial growers in the area. You won't find it 75 miles plus out of the county here unless its just the flower.

A lot of people have the same view as you because it has actually died out. If you have never seen it or had it, and its not been ran and abundant in your area, you likely won't believe its existence. That is what I am here for. To change the entire outlook on the true road kill skunk. To bring its presence out of the sticks. Be patient and hopefully you will get to pop a pack and experience it as well.

However for the photos, no I don't have any. I will in the spring though. I am currently not running it indoor and have never ran it indoors to be honest. Always a great outdoor strain, and unfortunately it is winter here in Ky at the moment and not possible to grow outdoors as of now.

Like I said, I have big plans and I want to do this and this is only a work in progress atm.

@max420thc has had experience with the particular Road Kill strain I am speaking of. He has a few pics, that he might share.

Basically I just wanted to drop the idea in progress. Its gonna take time for this project to be "known" and "true". But I can say there will be a LOT of happy people when they are released and honestly I believe the legend will take hold pretty darn quickly. Only time can tell at the moment.

I am no breeder, but I am learning. I wanna be the one to spread the Road Kill amongst the people that are searching it out. Its such a unique strain and once you've had it, you'll never forget it.

Again, as of now this is ONLY a work in progress and I am taking it very very serious. I do not know of anywhere else in my travels or communications with friends in various states and regions, where this particular road kill is still floating around. I wanna be the one to save it from extinction. I have ran several seeds and some including bagseed that have a similar relation to the Ky road kill, but only slight. All skunks I have ran from ANY breeder have always had that sweet note to it, and that is absolutely no where to be found in this line. Also I have ran many landrace. Afghani seeds, and by that I mean tons and had plenty of phenos exhibiting some very pungent dirty socks, garlic, skunk, earthy and rotten acid smells but still, nothing that compares to this.

Honestly in my opinion, you will find the closest relation to the Ky road kill in landrace afghan genetics... I'm not 100% sure the lineage of the local road kill we have, all I can tell you is it was brought in in the 70s, I learned of it in the late 80s, and it is still here slowly dying out. I peronsally know 3 people including myself that has the local worked seeds.

Have you ran DNA RKS?

That shit was full on foul, blocks away from my spot, you could smell her growing... I have not ran anything skunk since that time. My heart was sitting outside my chest, the whole grow.
I got a freebie of that year before last. I ran it outdoor and while it did have a good skunk odor with very little sweet musk, it didn't reek. I had to really get to squeezing on the dry product after it had dried out and was ready to burn to get the skunk smell to come out.

I only ran one and while it was skunky the odor was very very light.

Genuity you should give these beans a shot so when they are ready. If you think RKS by DNA was good you will likely faint when you smell these.

Oh and I would also like to put it out there that the one freebie RKS seed I did grow, I grew it guerilla style, of course. And I will give it HUGE props as it was one of the only strains I ran that year from seed that did not have any spot of bud rot in it whatsoever. It yielded extremely well and it was a very good outdoor contender. I would have loved to had a cut of it for that reason and it had a good classic high.

I'll definitely run some, the time I ran that RKS was back in 2007...

And you know, its funny because during the time mine was growing and flowering it did smell pretty stout. Maybe not as strong as you describe but then again. I am used to the road kill we have around here which is violent. But the odd thing was AFTER the harvest and dry, is when the odor went wayyyy down low.

I will be sure and let everyone know when I begin my work on the Ky Road Kill.

I also currently have some landrace imported seeds that was coming into Ky back in the 80s that have been open pollinated ever since and grown out. Excellent outdoor variety with huge pheno variants. I cannot say exactly the lineage but it was imported bud said to be from Africa and Mexico coming through in bricks.

it is unimaginable how bad this thing stinks,
the stinkiest ever. taste like lime slurppy when finished, the stinkiest plant I have ever seen or known of, it will smell up complete blocks of neighborhoods making it difficult to grow in all but legal states,
it over powers anything it gets around, very good high,
down falls, is it does not form good colas, is a medium producer in the right hands though, and is leafy as hell,
none better anywhere though, nothing compares

Sounds identical to the same ky cut only the one I know, yields above average to heavy depening on the grower. Like I said from seed there are 2 phenos I know and the old man says several. I'm excited to work this line, I can tell you that for sure.

Growing outdoors is different then indoors , this strain was mostly grown outdoors for decades, how I do not know. It's my understanding many who grew it outdoors stopped because it stunk so bad making it imposable to keep gorilla gardens secret.
Unless you ever seen it or smelled it most people can not comprehend the stink of this bitch.
It's not just road kill. It smells like you got sprayed by a herd of skunks .
It is really really loud and stinky .

You were blessed to have had this cut my man. I know exactly the issue you are talking about. This is exactly why it is becoming extinct. People that have not grown her or smelled the flower just don't realize how insanely intense the odor is.

Everyone was getting their crops stolen and eradicated by LEO due to the stench. I personally am one of those victims. Buddy, it is in my best wishes for you to have access to this strain once again. Be patient and good things will come!

I would love to have it. I got hit by weed pirates a few times because of her.
No they really do not comprehend the stink of this bad girl until you have smelled it.
I was very fortunate to have this cut.
I told you the story of me walking into a dispensary in Colorado and it over powered everything he had, all you could smell in there with one small nugget in a sandwitch bag in my pocket, the owner came from behind the counter and asked what I had in my pocket, I broke him off a small piece of the nugget I had in my pocket and gave him my friends phone number ( toasty) he was calling him the next morning for a cut of that plant.
Of course he never did get a cut of it.
