They get 12 hrs of direct sun everyday I water every day I do have a question as I ran hydro for 5 years don't kno much on "soil watering" so I let the top 2 inches just about get dry then ill water but I've only been using like 2 liter of water I see the pots drain on all sides not sure if thats the way but just what I been doing and they haven't dropped or showed any signs most of the part they praise the sky and I really wasn't aiming for big ass plants as I vegged for 25 days from seed then 12/12 I have one that is growing strangely even will play with the sun literally I brought her out the other day and literally as soon as the sun hit it she turned all her leaves upside down put under the led and watched it turn back in less than 10 minutes like the leaves literally bent there stem to go 180 on me but its fine now doesn't happen anymorevits the sativa dom I'm sure its growing faster than the others now I tied her down good so ill have multiple colas it was almost the smallest plant but when I put 12/12 it exploded and it started showing sex the latest its just like a week in getting her pistils and I flowered all at same time.

The only time I tried growing outside in 5gallon buckets, they were SIPs, but the pics below are what the root-bound girls looked like after harvest. The thing you have to keep on top of is feeding them, they were over 5' tall and had used up all the nutes in the soil pretty early on. Sorry, never weighed mine, but I'd guess they had 8-10oz's on them.

Also, going back and forth between different light sources -- especially when one is red/blue leds -- has caused hermies for me before, so be careful with that.

You'll get maybe 3oz total of dry bud after trimming. Next time consider using 10 gallon pots (nothing smaller) because as they grow and the summer gets hotter, you'll need to water those as much as twice a day. Plus be sure to prop them up well, those small pots will be top heavy if they buds continue to grow very tall.

Good luck and happy growing.

Will this hot weather make my buds airy so far they look like they are ok nice and tight also will the stretch be the same as indoor or should I see more explosive towards the last 3 week than indoor they are 25 1/2 inches at day 26 or 27 of flower..

Jokes aside, I have my gals in 5 gallon pots too so we're on the same boat. I do find that I need to water twice a day while the temps are high. They droop in the morning at the first sight of sun and mid afternoon for me. In the future I willn't be won't be fuckin around with 5 gallon pots. Mine are approaching 5 ft and I'm sure it will affect my yield. I think I'll still be able to pull off an lb per plant. Jk but a couple ounces at least I hope. Did you have them indoor for a while previously? How do you have so much bud growth at this time of season? Sorry I didn't read the whole thread you might have answered that. I put mine outside about a week before the solstice. They're all shooting pubes now. Hey good luck man hopefully these 5 gallon pots aren't gunna crush our dreams peace bra

Well I did have them inside under tube fluros when the sun went down but outdoor as much sun as they can get all of them did fine as seedlings even in 100 degrees but I'm sure there's confusion as I can tell but my plants were vegged for 25 days 10 days in lil ass pots then moved to half gallon pots for 15 days then I force flowered them because my sun is still 14 hrs or more here in southeast colorado but I transplanted on day 25 from seed so if that's a little clearer for the friendly growers saying my pots are to small like I vegged them for 2 months its a lil outdoor experiment my first outdoor just to get a taste for next year season I do indoor but I finally moved here where its legal and I honestly feel like 5 gal for the time they have been growing and the time thats left to finish besides I have to move them in and out to flower or they will stay in veggetive stage which I don't want yea I could have vegged 2 months but I did kno I had to move them in every night I'm 26 and I'm only 150 lbs not a noddy builder so I definitely didn't even look at 10 gal pots that would be walked up and down my basement stairs so I'm fine with small plants until next year when ill get my yard prepped I have thousands of grasshoppers in my back yard so I have to spray and clean all these weeds get as good as a environment I can get for the future of my growing and good luck as well I do notice pistils growing a lot faster than my indoors I've done also nodes are a lot tighter but all aside yea ones or and outdoor like yesterday I slept in a lil so when they are in my basement I have a 1200 watt led that turns on at 6 am so they are always under light or sun I only use the led about 30 min a day either if I sleep in or I have to bounce somewhere before 6pm they go under the led

Can you actually grow outdoors in Colorado? I thought you had to be in a "fully enclosed" area. How do you interpret the laws? (no sarcasm). I live in CO too ... would love to just grow outdoors

Following thread because I'd love to see what you get and how it goes, I have 8 different strains in 5 gallons and I'm putting 5 in the ground tomorrow right before flower. I get the 5 gal pot thing, I can't don't have the space for 20 gal pots and I do have to move my plants around and I'm 5"4 and yes I can lift 210 lol but the 5gal pots work for me , just an example IMG_9826.JPG

So again cheers and I am excited to see how yours go, ps. I veg my plants for a few months if I can

Don't let anyone razz ya about 5 gallon pots. Most folks growing indoors aren't using anything that large. You'll do fine.

I'm partially in the same boat. I started with the 20's and moved down the line. I had such great success with my seed germ this season I just planted 'em all. By the time I got to the last few I was down to 5 gallon buckets. I drilled the shit out of the bottom of mine and yesterday....when I started trying to spread them out a bit more...I found they are growing out of the 5 gal bucket and rooting into the ground. Not sure if I'll move em now or let em crowd a bit. Gotta go out there and see if the ones I did rip the roots on and move are AOK.

We will see how the yields play out in the 20's vs. the 5's.....but so far...the plant SIZE isn't all that different...certainly not 4X the size.

Outside growing in Colorado is supposedly a no-no. Quite a bit of that depends on where you are, IMO. In the city....it's pretty much a no-go. In the sticks....they gotta find em to do anything about 'em.

same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was....

best of luck with the season

Ive had 4 footers topped cleaned up nice in the ground yield more than a rootbound 7 foot lanky plant in a 5 gal when flowering came she just wouldn't stack
