Defoliating Autos

Yeah don't bother with LED unless you're gonna go Cob. Failing that ive been tempted by those LEC 315's lately.
contrary to popular belief cheap Mars LEDs actually work pretty good, just depends on how many plants. I have a Mars 300 and Apollo 300 along with a 600 HPs. the Mars has been doing wonders for my Pineapple Express but as they say you get what you pay for

Maybe it's just Because it was my first grow but I used their 196 reflector and it was really bad, the veg was alright but in flower they just really struggled to produce anything smoke able.

that's what surprised me actually. I had a g13 pineapple express under a Mars 300. granted, it was just one plant and I have hybrid lighting
but that plant structured so much better under the 300 than it did the HPs. I tried just hps and it didn't come close to that level of resin the led did nor structure. now I'm not saying my observation is conclusive but that I've had success. back on topic though. just remember that your leaves are like satilites, you lose to many and your losing your delivery system which the plant recieves nutrients. just make sure there out the way of your budsites and your fine

you got to remember though that without that led your plant isnt getting as much supplementing light, even if the led is crud your plant is still getting more lumens than the HPS alone.

exactly! which is why I chose hybrid. you can spend more money on a bad ass led or build your own (I want to do this in the future!) but if your scraped for cash and have a small setup even a cheap led and/or hps can work wonders

It's probably more to do with having a fuller spectrum, I have seen a lot of people with great results with Mars and HPS/MH. Personally I'd rather have a one light fits all rather than multiple lights.
