So I'm going to omit a lot of what has gone on, and just mention the major fun stuff...

I've stated a party cup plant just for shits and to see about how sog might work in my space with small plants. The plant looks good, just a few weeks after being taken as a cutting it shows pistils and has began to flower.

My 2 mature flowering plants are looking quite nice. A few of the larger branches had to be supercropped because they were in a position where they can't be tied down, and are getting too tall. They're 2 weeks into flower today.

The 2 plants I have in my veg cab are growing to be great mothers if I decide to do a SOG next, if not, they'll be great candidates for replacements of what I have in there already.

The clones are healthy. There was one the light fell on and nearly killed. I was going to throw it out but decided to let it live since I had space, and see if I could nurse it back to life.

Yay.

Week 3 of 12/12.

Plants are growing many buds. I have many lengthy tops, with lots and lots of bud sites. There are a couple that I refer to as bud towers that are over a foot in length, with 10-15 bud sites. I expect these to be good producers. Plants look healthy to me, and for the moment are not showing any deficiencies or signs of stress. I have, however, seen the first trichomes forming along buds. Many of the experienced growers shoot for 1g/watt, I'm shooting for 0.5g/watt. That would be a little over 4 ounces. Wish me luck.

I took a bunch of clones today. My solo cup flowering clone is looking pretty good, so I'm going to try SOG for my second run. I grew a clone specifically to harvest clones from, and have another clone that I took at the same time in a veg cabinet in case my SOG clones don't take up enough space in the wardrobe. The clones I took today all have one top node, and 1 additional node with 2 shoots coming out. Once they are rooted I'll top them and let them veg a bit before going into flower.

I'm hoping to have an uneventful next 5 weeks, and would love to harvest the second week of February.

Moving along, buds starting to grow a bit. My little party cup plant is happy, and so are the larger plants.

Cleaned my bong today. It has been inn a box for a year with some resin in the perc. I've had this thing for about 6 years, and used it maybe 20 times so far. It doesn't get much use. For a period of time I couldn't keep it at home, so I let people borrow it. A lot of my friend's name their glass, and they named this one Osama Bin Laden. It spent more time hiding in other people's closets than being useful. Took forever to clean, but it's clean. Tommy, the cat, wants to try it out.

Day 34 of 12/12

20160117_031455~2.jpg

Removed my plants from their cabinet for the first time since the 12/12 flip, gave the soil a nice flush just in case there is any salt build up and watered with a lite feeding. I'm definitely happy with how they look, and am looking forward to the day I chop them down.

Bud size has taken off, but I don't really notice until I look at photos from 7-10 days ago. When I pulled the plants out, one of them had a tough time holding.its buds up, which is fine with me! When they're in the cabinet they have support, so the bigger and heavier the better as far as I'm concerned. Some of these buds look like the rim of a margarita glass that has been freshly rimmed with salt, which I'm happy to see. Most of the trichomes are still clear, a few are cloudy, and some here and there on the leaves are amber.

I'm hoping the chop date will be the first or second week of February, but I'm happy to let them go longer if they're still putting on weight, and don't have too many amber trichs.

This is some goooood smelling OG. Really pungent citrus and fuel smell. Its exactly as I had hoped.

Week 6 of 12/12.

I took a sample bud just for shits even though it's only week 6. It looks nice, smells like plant, but tastes good, and is definitely a contender for potency.

The calyxs are starting to really swell, still lots of growing happening, and lots of new white pistils. My clones and other vegging plant are ready for the SOG that is next. Just pruning them to keep them small (they're in a small cabinet) until it's time to put them in the flowering room.

The solo cup plant is still chugging away, it is at week 5, going strong.

Week 7 of 12/12 (day 50)

I couldn't find many clear trichomes, maybe a couple %, and I found 1 Amber trichome on a calyx, about 98% are cloudy. I'm currently watering with plain PH'd water until the chop date.

The buds are continuing to swell, and they look, deliscious. As many of you probably understand, even a good photo Just doesn't do it justice. The smell is top notch. It is a black liquorice and lemon fuel smell, with a bit of sweet pine. It's a crushing, pungent smell when I smell my hand after handling the plant.

Pistils one one plant are still mostly white, but beginning to turn. If necessary I'll harvest it a few days to a week after the other, hard to say this far out.

About half the room

Can kinda see the buds swelling, in person they almost look like green raspberries.

Hand for a bit of scale next to a bud.

Getting anxious, I'm thinking ILGM was pretty close with their 55 day estimate. I'll probably run about 60 days. The pants are beginning to use up their available nutrients, and I've been leaving a window open and lowering the night time temp to about 63°, daytime about 78°. Starting to see more amber, most pistils have changed to Orange, and the buds have started to take on a slightly brighter green color, which I was not expecting, but visually looks great to me. I'm a bored tonight, so I thought I'd make another quick update so I could post some more bud porn...

One plant seems to be a little ahead of the other on development, I'll likely harvest plant 1 and transplant the clones (and move them to the flower cabinet), and when plant 1 is dry and begins to cure, harvest plant 2. I have a solo cup plant in a magnetic cup holder in the wall, I may keep that one going until the trichs are mostly amber and see how it compares, as well as see if it bulks up more in that extra flowering time. I intend for that to be a "private stock" so to speak, and give it a long cure (probably 6+ months).

Any suggestions, thoughts, questions etc are welcome.

Clones for my SOG attempt are ready for a transplant and flip, as well as one slightly larger one I have to take up any unused space.

So I did harvest one plant. It looked ripe to me. Trimed and dried, currently curing. The other plant is still going, but starting to amber and pistils are turning Orange now. It has maybe a week left until pulled down.

My solo cup plant is enjoying the extra space, and light. It has a better spot now where it stays cooler and has better air flow, in 2 days I noticed double the trichs.

I stuffed my SOG clones in the flowering room. That's another reason I chopped the first plant. It looked ready, but I also needed the space. My clones had overgrown not only their cabinet, but their containers and were majorly rootbound. So after a transplant they were moved over for 12/12.

Dried but not cured, my first plant weighed in at about 66g, and I smoked/gave away about 3 or 4 already. I'm not disappointed in that. Hoping for 120 Dried and cured between the two plants.

Ok, it's been a minute since the last update, but I doubt many follow this anyways.

I lost a little bud to mold. I removed Abe discarded what was moldy, and dried the rest of that jar bone dry to keep in the hash pile.

The rest dried and cured beautifully after a few learning opportunities.

The flower room is doing fine, lots of stretching going on but that is fine. Everything is healthy and will start spreading out soon. Mini buds are beginning to form.

(Photos are a few days old)
