is it possible to enhance the taste &/or smell of your dank? i know it's more of a breeding thing but i was wondering if you could affect it in anyway during it's growth cycle.

You can ABSOLUTELY control the taste, smell, and smoke of your bud while it is growing!

Growing it in perfect conditions, taking care of your girls, feeding her, etc.

Try feeding your babies Mollassas during flowering stage for a sweet caramel flavor. Lot's of things to do bro, just be consistant and take care of them!

A lot of it has to do do with genetics but you can't take a perfect seed and grow it it bad conditions and expect a good harvest!

How about an old trick.... that's cheap & works......
.
Take 1/2 a can of frozen juice concentrate (flavor or your choice) grape, apple, pineapple, or even the pina colada mix - add to two gallons of unchlorinated water, add one ounce of SPT, or a sock with a handful of well aged compost. Bubble for two days, then give each girl one quart of this mix, via the root zone.
.
This must be done, three days before the finish / harvest. Do not water afterwards (or add to the reservoir), to ensure maximum flavor is absorbed.
.
Cheap, simple, & effective......
.
Hope this helps......

Blackstrap unsulphured molasses for bigger buds and more flavor. You could also try something like organic jam or syrup.
Smell is mostly dependent on curing. To trap in the dankest smells try drying it without moving air and opening the jars once a day. Everytime you open the jar its a burst of delicioius fragrance.

HomeGrown420Baby..... Yes, this old trick does work good. I've used it many times. I had one NL # 5 pheno, that tasted like a penny on your tongue when you smoked it. Yuck... but the weed had nice punch, so I used fruit punch juice concentrate on it to improve the flavor.
.
It does work. If you're nervous about doing it. Just do one plant and see for yourself.
.
or
.
Flavored papers are cheap...... & you can change the taste everytime you smoke. Just a thought.......
.
If you check out the latest trend in hydro whore ($$$$ making), you'll notice they're selling stuff to flavor your buds. "Pineapple Express" is one of the lastest & greatest money makers. I notice a certain seedbank in the UK, is selling a strain named " Pineapple Express ". From bottled additives to seeds, money whore'n knows no limits...... LOL..... Shameless marketing at it's worst.......
.
But... I did like the movie....... & I would love to have a huge, secret underground growing facility like in the movie......
That would be sweet..........

always good words from OhSo. I think I'm going to try the fruit concentrate trick now tho on one plant I have multiples of that same strain and see the difference.

gahh, that indoor underground setup Ted Jones had was pretty legit :bigjoint:

I use Grandma's. You can find it in most supermarkets. You can use it through the whole grow, because it feeds the good microorganisms. I use a little in conjunction with BMO nutes.

On this note, has anyone ever tried curing with something that would infuse the buds with aroma? I was thinking of trying some orange peels, not too much, just some shavings, to give the buds a nice citrus smell.

Somebody041..... The micro-beasties (good bacteria & fungi) in the SPT or the well aged compost, will help breakdown the fruit juice concentrate to a very soluble (useable) form. That way your plants can take in more of it, more easily.

I've used the orange peel method quite a few times & I like the taste, just be careful as in addition to a bit of flavor it also infuses moisture into the jars of bud.
Peace
