The only plants I have been able to pull more than 3 oz off of with no veg time (rooted clone in oasis cube and straight into 3 gallon pot) was a 12 week super silver haze. It produces lots of weight, but it's a hassle. Having good sativa to smoke is nice though. You don't see it around here.
The plant that requires the most veg here is grown to about 12 inches and ends up 32 inches tall. It fills space horizontally though. Very bushy plant.
I do like the genetics that stretch in flower but still keep tighter node spacing. It cuts way down on veg time. Sounds like you appreciate the same.
its alot easier to do with a 12 week strain im tryin to do it with a 9 week strain you know. yup you think similar to me i think all veg time is wasted time.

Well, I veg under T8 shop lights... they are 5 years old and still kicking. They cost me 20 bucks each. I only change bulbs when they die which isn't very often. I can cram 24 plants under two strips in 1 qt pots. That is enough to fill 3000 watts and have 4 extras to throw out that are behind the pack. Plants are vegged and ready to go 1 week after the previous flower finishes. 1 week is enough time to comfortably trim and clean the flower tents real well. Using fresh air from outdoors, so humidity is all over the place and PM is always a threat. The fresh air is worth it though. Just have to select genetics that are not PM prone.
My point is that veg time is not really wasted time in my situation. My coffee maker uses more energy every morning then my veg lights do all day. They are not vegged in the flower room so production is not held up. The 1 qt pots transplant straight to 3 or 5 gallon pots of coco .

T12s were the norm back in the day.. They actually are going out of production in the coming months. I used to veg under those before picking up the T8s in 2008 or so.
T8 are 1 size smaller. More common in newer construction. T5 are those super thin bulbs, like the thickness of a dime. T8 more like a nickle. T12... 50 cent piece? haha.

So if the man has fluffy bud and it's not the nutes, what is it? What causes fluffy bud that a grower can do to avoid it? ? @Heartland: How is Dyna that much cheaper? Dyna/tekt costs 12 c/gal, Sensi 14c/gal. V&B 17c/gal. WHat a bank buster.

I dont use the tekt. Just Foliage pro, grow, or bloom.
Never tried Sensi... I used to buy their ph down... it was ridiculously strong. i loved it. Sensi isn't for sale around here either. One shop used to sell it, i grabbed the last of the down... a couple bottles lasted me a very long time.

OK less 3c/gal then. But no silica. Point is base costs are near equal in this industry. Sensi may be more but has fulvic/amino,surficant. Works great for me. I have been studying nutes for quite some time and have come across some interesting finds. #1: nutes are so insignificant when you are dealing with a cash crop.

I'de like to try them out. I have used Canna, House and Garden and now DynaGro. When comparing the full lineups of those to dg's single bottle it is a pretty good savings. More important though I like the single liquid to mix... The two part nutes (hng and canna) are mixed in 15 min intervals. part a, wait 15, part b, wait 15, ph, wait, add the additives... nearly an hour later. With dg i can mix and water in 5 minutes.

Is it just like sensi grow and sensi bloom? 1 part, 2 part? I'de like to see how complete sensi is.... DG is pretty complete. I wouldn't really call it base nutes.

DG compared to HnG and Canna... the growth is better with DG, not just the cost.

you dont have to wait 15 min to put each thing in and yes definitely give it a try. and if you dont wanna check ph ever again try the ph perfect 2 part i love that shit

compare adv.jpgcomparedyna.jpg check out what is in AN grow. then look at dyna. HnG and Canna are the same. You get just a little of what your plant needs. Dyna is complete. You can;t really compare the two. That's where the additives and increased cost comes in.

dont pay attention to that it'l throw you off just watch how the plants grow. AN is made specifically for weed
Are you saying that you only use base nutes, no additives?
The actual nutrients are just nutrients derived from their source... there's no magic in a bottle. There are different forms on N P and K, but the real difference in AN from dynagro is that you need to buy many bottles to get a complete plant food, and the balance is different.

nope. ph perfect sensi 2 part bloom, big bud/overdrive, bud candy and rhino skin. thats what i use you dont have to use the additives. in veg all i use is ph perfect 2 part grow
Ok. I got you, Sensi IS AN. Didn;t know that.

I don't know. I am seeing a 20-25% increase in yield after switching to a higher N feed throughout. Sensi sounds like what I had in the past. Lower N, higher P and K.

I'de like to try other brands out. but I am pretty happy with 9-3-6 veg and 7-9-5 flower and a little 12-3-6 to add in from time to time. Something at least close to that.

I'm not saying sensi sucks or anything... but why mess with 2 part nutes plus additives, pay more, and yield less?

The grow you show there is one of the 3 part formula. You are missing Micro and bloom. Are you serious? Additionally, Sensi has ALL the micros and more. Finally, don't get all hung up on labels, they are designed to satisfy all the bureaucratic state labeling laws. GH's Floralicious is an example. So is overdrive, koolbloom, and all the others. They have proprietary ingredients. I looked on the Heinz 57 sauce label and damned if it didn't list all those spices. Coke is Coke right? Lists all kinds of shit but not the ingredients that make it coke instead of pepsi.

I got you. I wasn't sure what nutrients you were speaking of and I was confused. So do you only use Sensi, no additives? 1 part or 2 part?
I shouldn't have spoke on AN, because I haven't used it... but I'm questioning your per gallon costs, maybe just a little bit.
My quick math is showing that Dynagro cost me 4.4 cents per gallon in flower. I feed about 2-3 times then do straight water once.

Edit. my math suck... .0507... 5 cents per gallon. Veg about 3 cents a gallon.

if you increase your yield you wont give a shit about the cost. just try it one time and see, if you dont like it switch back dont overthink it

I'm not down on AN... I just jumped into this thread because I saw Tree King saying DG makes fluffy buds. It just doesn't. Growers make fluffy buds.
