Video of my set up

I think we can all learn from eachother's set ups and I find videos help alot more than pics. I am no expert, am a fellow newbie. So I am not claiming any sort of perfection. Suggestions and comments appreciated!!!

Didn't mention a few things in the video:
1.) Seeds germed with paper towel method
2.) Then put into solo cups with MG seed starter and covered with baggie put under 2 43W CFL 6500K in a small cabinet for about 10 days before going into tent
3.) The water bucket detaches easily from the little hose that comes out of the tent. So it is only sitting there when watering
4.) Using Dyna-Gro: K-L-M, Grow, and Mag-Pro at 25% dose. Also adding in Home and Garden Drip Clean.
5.) Soil is a mix of cheap potting soil ~20%, peat moss ~ 30%, perlite ~30% and vermiculite ~20% with some worm casing and lime
6.) Water is filtered tap that has sat out a few days, PH'd to 6.5 after adding nutes

Very complex for 1st timer... I just had my first , just curing now, and had no where near as complex a set up .I watered and feed by hand, but also struggled with light distance and humidity... I never bought a thing to control humidity and as a result pretty much my entire grow was around 60-70% humidity... NOT IDEAL for an avg throughout but hey , you ilve and learn, I also had MH and HPS lights... 400W

What kind of yield do you expect using that light system?
what kind of soil are you using?
And are you going to top and tie down like Hydro???

otherwise "DAD" things looking good as far as I am concerned and you seem to have yourself quite a lil grow crackin'

I honestly have no idea on yield. Obviously not huge with CFL. I use about a pound a year. So at 3-4 grows per year, as long as I get that pound I am happy.

The water thing looks more complex than it is. I just know that I would like drown my plants if left on my own.

I plan to top once and then do some lst, but nothing compared to hydro. I don't think I have enough light to sustain that. I am really curious to see if those LED panels help in flower to fill out the buds lower on the stem.

good point... not sure tose lights are strong enough to get like his..... regardless nice job and i look forward to watching them grow.

hmm i just started my grow and a gravity watering system does look nice. i may look into that sure is easier than carrying around 1g jugs and phing each one.

Walmart/amazon/etc have some great water PH correctors and enzyme products, floating thermometers, as well, in the aquarium section. I'm gonna watch your setup now, awesome to see some vids on RIU!

**great video. Plz avoid or turn your fan off next time. Nice set up, you've got some nice automated functions going on. Everything works. And that's the goal. But I do wonder about size; let's say you wanted to grow a tall sativa; not the easiest. And since its just one room you can't have a mother plant or multiple stages of growth. I'd love to see this room moved to a "proper" room, like a basement or spare room, which has real walls. It's an awesome temporary setup but it definitely has the cardboard box feel. +Rep

My wife plans to turn it into a real closet for me. Down the line, after some legislation changes, I would like to add a second area for perp grow. I do have some 2' tall cabinet type things. Plan is to pull some clones before flower and see if I can keep them okay in there while these flower. Or turn one of the clones into a mother and clone her as flower finishes.

Yes, I am sticking to indica dominant but they are my preference anyway.

Will turn off oscillating fan next time. I did at least turn off the exhaust fan while taping.

I am actually Phing by the gallon. But I could easily enough do it in the bucket. What I like about it is that is easy to aerate and easy to unhook while also giving me a nice slow, even watering. As soon as I see a drop come out of the bottom, I can stop any more water from getting to that plant. It was cheap (the water valves are like $7 ea) and very easy to put together with stuff from home depot. Unlike most projects of mine, it worked the first time with no leaks :-)

tell me how to construct that lol. i like the idea of more oxygen for my soil plants. this will be my next project.

I'll put up a vid tomorrow with how I made it. Too much to type on the ipad... But it was really simple.
