pc case ...... need help please!

ok ... so after my thread... is it possible to grow in a pc case or is it a massive hidding to nothing?
i have been busy building a pc steath case.....


ok ... so brief specs
2 x 80mm fans in the lower part ... 1x intake 1x exhaust
2 x 120mm fans upper part 1x intake 1x exhaust
125w duel spectrum cfl

new front and rear bulkheads made from slate

ok ... lamp and hanger arrived today, had to remove the intake fan from the upper part in order to fit the bulb in the box (hanger is far larger then i'd imagined)

case sits at 22 degrees (72F) with light off ... no movement at all

my problem is the lamp is HOT.... with the light on for one hour only temps we're 35 degrees (96f) ... i gave up and switched it off at that point... i tryed removing plexi glass shelf.... (had to as i was worried about melting it) and the outside of the case was very hot too ... so much so, other people in the house asked what the hot smell was?..... very stealthy i thought!

can anyone help with sugestions as to how i can cool this thing down please???

Pc grows are cool but fuck it just to small....spend months growing for such a small amount...

well i am due to start with my hps setup ... but i'm stuck in limbo with finding a place...so i'm stuck in temp accom ...and im itching to grow NOW!... so hence the pc (due to gift to a mate when i move) .... but now i'm (imo) nearly there (and spent some cash on it) i'd like it to work

PC cases are great. After you're done upgrading you can start your seedlings in it for a few weeks then move to the HPS for further growth. Or you can grow dwarf tomatoes in it, or just plain herbs.

For one you need a smaller light...and i wasnt hating on you...keeping a grow area cool is a major problem....

the pc was saved from being thrown away so was free .... i have spent money on the light however...so the light stays. i will try turning the lamp so the tips (the hot part) face the rear of the case and add another 1 maybe 2 120mm fans.... if this dont work im gonna have to find a larger cab (maybe a small set of draws or single door cupboard from a charity shop)

i don't mind if you was hating on me bruv.... i've got fairly thick skin and probably wouldn't notice

i dont care if you think thelight should stay. its too big and to hot. us like two 25 watt cfls and you will be fine. add the cfl to the hps area for extra light

not a bad idea............. 25 watt cfl would only cover the blue spectrum yes?

get some 100 w daylight cfl that will be good for that small box, i had a pc box never got over 90f with just 2 intakes one exhaust 80mm fans.

yeah dont think fans are going to do much .... and the more i put in the more light leaks im gonna end up with .... it already leaks like a soviet power plant
think i'm gonna have to find a larger grow box... anyone want a pc case.... lightly fucked?

it will work, but do you really wanna spend 3-4 months growing a plant to end up with 5 grams of weed? at least go to a junkyard and buy a broken minifridge or something

ya its only bigg enough for seedlings anyways just put two 25 watt cfls in with both having opposite spectrums and you will have plenty light for seedlings and alot of the veg state

ok ..... pc grow on hold!..... will be on the look out this weekend and will come up with a mini fridge or office cabinet by monday, ... fuck wanted to germ by now! now it almost feels like back to square one

you can germ now and like legalizeit says those 2 small 25 watters only cost about £5 for the leads and everything, that'll see you through till you get a new box prepped and ready (you should have about 2-5 weeks of veg space in that lil pc case with those lights)

fair play! .... i have put about 3 or more hours into this case funds are low and i have just spunked the last disposable income on that huge hot lamp ...... i have fallen into the eggs and basket trap!.... i will get back up and be ready for next week..... ignorance has lost me the battle.... but not the war!
