hmmm....liquid light that doesnt sound very healthy for the plants, but thats the first time i have heard of it...is it organic, lol?

thats good coverage in your cabinet. but one thing to keep in mind, lumens dont add, they distribute more than add together.

Plants looks very nice, I love the scrog. Are you just dropping it on top of them?

Well I made the frame and screwed it in place right below the intake fans...preferably it should have been over them but that would have meant moving all the power bars in there and I really didnt felt like it.
Then i carefuly put the plants under it, bending the tops in different directions so the lower branches have more light.

for 400w of power, thats a bit low amount. (same amount of heat to deal with as a 400w hps,maybe abit more, and half the ligth)

its certainly enough to flower the plant, but you´d get better results with a 250w hps.

the good news is that cfls give you nicely potent nugs.

see, even though light adds up and multiple points of lights are better. the cfls are limited by their low wattage and lesser efficiency.

10 000 lumens from combining a few low wattage fluos is not near the intensity of a light that generates 10 000 lumens on its own.
and even when you have a 10 000 lumens fluo, much of its light is in the green spectrum.
which is absolutely useless.

lets put it like this, a 70w hps (in my experience) outperforms (in budsize) 500w of cfls. (23w´s)

and also outperforms 4x49 watts of t5 (4300 lumens each)

still,id get similar amount out of these 3 examples, the t5 and cfls cover more space, but with much more wattage and smaller buds.

2 70w hps, would outperform those other systems.

but would give lesser potency, so its good to mix either cfls or mh with hps, 2 to 1 hpsmh

hps bulbs also last longer (though t5 outlasts them)

but the question is really, how much do you need?

do you really need to maximise your yield? cfls do their job and if its enough, then its enough.

It's really obvious people move from buying their seed to producing and producing comes largely by bagseed infusions. So anybody say bagseed is bogus isn't dealin straight!

Great to see for very little money a nice little set up can be done,the only advice that i would give you is any extra money that you get invest in a hps light,and a exaust fan to suite the light.By doing this the yeild will be increased by 99%.But i will give you a tip if you continue to use the cfl's,then use advanced nutes and your yeild will tripple...................................tyke.................another grower means a other redundent dealer love it peace.

12th day of flowering.
Its confirmed...Im a lucky SoB!!
Started with over 25 badseeds, 12 gemred....put 9 into veg room....kept the best and strongest 4 for flowering...turns out they are all female!!!!!!!
Some little hairs are starting to show on futur bud sites.
They are looking good so far....trimmed some fan leaves earlier this week so bottom branches could get more light...seems to be working great!!!

Beggining of 3rd week (15th day) of flowering.
Starting to smell really nice.
Canopy is looking great!
I started the flowering nutes regiment.
Opted to keep with the same brand as the growing nutes.
Regional brand, tought I'd give them a chance.
I'll go FF if not satisfied.
The 2nd generation is coming along great, looking green and healthy, they should be topped within 10 days.
I'll start fedding on them in a week or so as well.
This shit is so adictive!!!
And I mean growing it!!
I've already put my order in for the 3rd generation and i cant wait to start!!
Got some Purple Kush and BC God Bud both feminized on the way!

Hello everybody!
Here's a little update on my 1st grow.
21th day into flowering, things are going smoothly.
I can defenetly see the effects of the blooming/flowering nutes.
Buds doubled in size in like 4 days.
Keeping the temp around 85 with lights on, about 65 with them off.
Started planning the 2nd generation flowering setup.
Im thinking of putting a shelf midway up and having 2 ScrOG going under a 150w HPS each, like a month age difference, so I can get a perpetual grow going...
I'd go with only one plant per screen, since this time the plants are topped and will probly get a bit bigger since BC Big Bud grows a bit higher.
Would that be a valid option?

P.S. Sorry about the amount of pics...I feel like a proud new papa who's bugging everyone with his new baby's photos!!!

Well your new babies photos look superb!! You may want to get train a little more in your screen, but other than that outstanding first grow

Looks real good bro! Only thing I would have done different is let them veg under the screen a little more to let it fill out but looking reall good bro!

Yeah, being my 1st go at this I made some mistakes...Didnt think (or really knew) about ScrOG as an option so my basic setup wasnt really built for it. Plants were not topped and the screen was put in very late, like when I switched to 12/12. I also put too many plants under the screen, making it hard to acces the back ones to clear some leaves and LSTing. So as you can imagine this as been a great learning tool for me, and combined with more reading and all you growers advices, im sure the next grow will be a lot more succesful. I didnt really expect much if anything from this 1st try so anything I harvest will be a bonus....Keep the comments and tips coming!!

Well I put 2 feminized BC God Bud in jiffy pellets on tuesday morning....they both poped out today!
So I guess between 48 and 72 hours isnt too bad
Can wait to see this strain in action!!

All the specs of the growbox are in the 1st post of this thread....the things I changed/modified along the way are mostly talked about in here as well...for the pics ill keep posting them!
Seeds for this 1st grow were bagseeds, all from the same oz I bought some time before xmast.
Ordered twince since, both times from BC Seed King, cant say enough about the service they offer ; quality seeds, super quick delivery, very stealthy, best prices and lots of freebies!!
1st order : 15 Bc Big Bug seeds...payed cash...got 21 seeds within 12 days...for 50$!!
2nd order : 10 BC God Bud feminized, 10 Purple kush feminized...payed cash....got 15 beans of each strains withing 8 days (express post that time)!!!...for 180$!
As for soil and nutes, I used what was available around here....Using MG soil mixed with some cheap potting soil....OMG MG!!!!!!...yes MG....ill try something else for my 2nd go around but MG didnt do too bad imo.
Nutes were bought in a hydro shop here in Montreal (pics in earlier post) , regional brand...once again...its working pretty well....

The best advice I can give you is to research and plan your shit before you actually go buy stuff...ended up costing me more then I wanted since I had to modified the setup as I learned on the go.
