seeds from a hermi plant

I got some seeds from some bomb nugs from the cannabis club, but noticed it said it was Purple Hermi. will all the seeds be hermi?

Personally, i dont know, but the name Purple Hermi, could infact mean that the seeds have a high chance of being a hermi, but i doubt it is a 100% chance that every seed will be hermi in my opinion. Even feminized seeds aren't 100% chance of being female, my friend got 1 out of 40 plants male :(

What is a Hermaphrodite plant?

An hermaphrodite, or hermie, is a Marijuana plant of one sex that develops the sexual organs of the other sex. Most commonly, a flowering female Marijuana plant will develop staminate flowers, though the reverse is also true. Primarily male hermaphrodites are not as well recognized only because few growers let their males reach a point of flowering where the pistillate would be expressed.
Hermaphrodites are generally viewed with disfavor. First, they will release pollen and ruin a sinsemelia crop, pollinating themselves and all of the other females in the room. Second, the resulting seeds are worthless, because hermaphrodite parents tend to pass on the tendency to their offspring.


Please note that occassionally specious staminate flowers will appear in the last days of flowering of a female Marijuana plant. These do not drop pollen and their appearance is not considered evidence of deleterious hermaphroditism.

If you got the seeds out of a bag, its a pretty good indicator that the plant was exposed to male pods. That also says that the possibility of a bag called a hermie with seeds in it may have been a hermie.

I had a hermie in my second crop so I read up on them. It is likely that seeds from a hermie will make more hermies. Its in the genetic makeup. You can go ahead and try them, but I would suggest just buying a clone or seeds.

You can get a clone from a cannibus club (if you go to the right club). You can get seeds online. There are lots of urls in this site for good seed companies. Just search for them. Good luck with all that.

i decided to buy some clones from the club...they are only $20 each. the only thing i am worried about is being able to clone them.

Hey Vote, I have had a few male flowers pop up at the end. I was worried they would drop pollen. According to what you posted the male flowers are safe. Im glad. I wont stress it now.

trait with their offspring. In fact, genetically the hermie will only
produce female seeds and hermaphrodite seeds. It will never produce a
male seed. If you have ever seen all female seeds been advertised by
seed-banks then you should have the right to know that these seeds
come from female plants which are stressed into producing male
flowers. The plants then self-pollinate themselves and the results are
female and hermaphrodite seeds. In a special case a female known as
an XX female will produce more female seeds than hermaphrodite
seeds. That is how female seeds are created. In general growers try to
keep away from any hermie plants because they will spoil a Sinsemilla
crop. Also having pollen floating around in your grow room from a
hermie plant will spoil everything else including breeding projects.
Abnormal bud growth is a side effect of this. Because the
plant produces male pollen sacks in with female flowers you may
notice that the bud looks different. Also the quantity of female bud
produced is decreased because of pollination.
Early induced flowering is not technically forcing your plant
to flower. If you force flower on one strain that has not pre-flowered it
will flower at roughly the same time as an exact copy of the same
strain which has been flowered only when the pre-flowers appear
naturally. Force flowering simply acts by stressing the plant into a
crisis condition.

I have found it is always best to use hermi pollen when crossing strains or just pollinating the same strain.Hermi pollen has a much higher female seed rate,as high as 99% on a regular basis. though the first generation has been known to go female deep into budding then bam,hermi pollen.Not for the most part though.

what you need to understand is the reason behind the resin. the female produces the STICKY resiny substance for one reason only.Not to get you high.it does this so any pollen that is floating by will stick to the female and cause the plant to produce seeds in order to do what it does naturally reproduce. This is the whole purpose of its existence to further its strain by reproducing. SO ANY MALE FLOWERS ON YOUR HERMIE WILL POLLINATE THAT PLANT AND EVERY OTHER PLANT IT CAN MANAGE TO LAND POLLEN ON. If you can pick the male flowers off the plant you will spread pollen when doing so.But hermie pollen is known to produce 99% female seeds . GOOD LUCK
