Pics of my 2 first ladies

HI Guys and girls.
I am a noob grower but have not created a journal on this grow other than my hand written journal for my own notes. I wanted to make mistakes for myself and work out using this forum and my hydro shop what i was doing wrong when i had problems.

Equipment, 1 x 24W 6400K flourescent (propagation and seedling)

1 x HPS 600w with standard reflector and magnetic ballast (Veg and Flow)

2 x Oscilating fans one floor standing one up high on a shelf.

Thermometer with Hydrometer, Ph up/down, Ph Dropper test kit.

COCO COIR, IONIC GROW/BLOOM, Bio Bizz Leaf Coat, Bio Bizz Alg-Mic, Ph'd at 6, hand watering

Room size is a walk in closet 8ft x 7ft x 3ft

Created a polythene door screen with opening flap for access as i initially had temp issues but resolved by fitting the screen and leaving the door open.

I am growing 2 plants in this space as floor space is limited to around 6 plants but as this is my first grow i didnt want too many to look after.

had issues with thrips in the coir probably from not being anal with the cleanliness (my own fault) Predator namatodes ROCK!!!!! All sorted now.

I vegged for 3-4 weeks then switched to 12/12 before i switched i left the plants in dark for 30 hours. Then started the 12/12. after 1 week 2 days i had one showing me her lovely white hairs. 2 Days later the other showed me her hairs and i was so happy that i had to ladies on my hands.

I have now been in flower for approximately 2 weeks 3 days and here are some of the pics. Some are small due to taking them on a cam/phone.

*Edit* thought i had better add that i have also trimmed the bottom half of each plant to allow more bud sites sitting in the sweet spot to grow better.

I think they look good man, make me jealous cause I just harvested my first two and don't have any others started yet.

thnx bro i have a propagation shelf setup in the closet which i can drop a door onto ready for when i start the next cycle. When i grow a second time i am still gonna go from seed then i might take a cutting from that seed to see how to do it.

those plants are in 10inch diameter pots so you can get the jist of how big they are. I'd say around 2 feet tall but they have stretched about 5inches in the last week which is why i have cleaned up the bottoms to help promote the tops.

Thanks for the comments tho. The 2 first pics are the same plant as the last pic. That is a haze derivative but not sure which lol. The other is a standard indica.

Its been great having this forum on hand aswell as my ever so good hydro shop guys.

Hi Freddog23

I am using COCO COIR just like soil and its working really well. I hand water every couple of days when the pots feel lighter. I nute every 3rd watering i use leaf coat once a week and bio bizz algamic every watering.

the seeds i are what i found in a bag from my normal guy. But he has really high quality herb everytime. So far my collection of seeds are APOLLO 11, POT OF GOLD, and a pure sativa.

these seeds i am growing now as per pics above the first 2 pics are the haze (possibly purple haze) the next 2 pics are from i think just a normal skunk. Unsure of genetics of either of these plants.

On my next grow i am going to insert some bubble baskets into the pots to give direct air to the roots. I am going to germinate my POT OF GOLD and if i get 2 that take i will then add air basket to only one of these to see the difference.

how close are your lights? the plants look a little stretched

my only suggestion would be think about investing in a mh conversion bulb for your veg time. it would keep them much more compact. they look great though. congrats!!!

although you probably could get them a little closer to the light. Light, and training are very important. I have a wild monster in my closet thats a headache to tame, because i just let it grow wild

nice grow so far bud cant wait to see mine that tall keep up the good grow!!

my lights are about 18-24 inches away from my 600w they are in their 2nd week of flowering and have stretched around 5 inches. i was led to believe that a stretch was normal when changed to 12 12 . i have cleand up the bottoms (pruned small bud sites) to allow the sweet spot buds to develope better. this is my first grow so bound to make a few errors

if you use an air-cooled hood you can get a 600 watt light to within 6"

I have never heard of bubble baskets. what exactly are they and what benefits will you get from them. also where can u purchase them at?

thnx for the info. the trouble i have is venting the air cooled reflector . if i were growing for anyone other than myself i would contemplate it. maybe i could get it a little closer but it is my first grow ..



DOG an air basket is an attachment for an airline which is like an airstone only bigger. you should be able to get one from your hydro shop or aquatics centre

at present i am into my 4th week of flowering and my buds are growing about 10mm a day and looking really dense. the indica plant has some really gd crystal production going on where as the haze doesnt have as much but i am expecting the haze to be flowering about 4-6 weeks longer than the indica. i will update with more pics soon. picked up my booster today. YIPEE

The look real sweet man. Think i'm going to use bends or tape the main leaf to the side of the pot to promote bottom stems to thicken to the size of the main and create more growth, I was going to top them but i here that it causes stress. This will all depend on how thick the main stem is. too thick and it wont bend, too thin and it might snap......

But hoping to get more bud.

Im going to meet the guy who has the mother of my clones tomorrow as he is about to crop withing the next few days plants from the same mothers. And im growing in exactly the same products as he is. Never met him tho, but m,y mate said he is quality and to be ready to get smashed on the best weed in yorkshire...

some bad news im afraid the HAZE plant hermie'd on me. i found a total of 5 clusters of bananas so ive pulled it down.
