CFL Ballast Mod

Ok this if going to be dumb but I'm a mechanic and I work with 12vt not 120 etc ... I assume all cfl bulbs come with the ballast internal and the chip and board I see is the ballast and the red and black wire are the 120 in from the outlet. Just wanted to be sure before I drill holes and run the wires out and hook them up to a cord and plug it into the wall.

Rather look dumb asking a question than do something stupid "Guess It's The Mechanic Thing"

Thanks

They are pretty nice. Why are you opening the bulb and just not using a cord with a socket on it which is much safer??

Over Head! would be my first reason aside from the fact that many other people are doing it. If I have 10 bulbs I need 10 sockets and if I used two vanities that would be about 20-35 bucks depending on parts etc. If I use sockets with a cord well those are not all that cheap either in my opinion that jacks up your over head.

I work in a maintenance shop im the mechanic over 50+ buses but we maintain many properties the company owns so their is a gold mine of supplies FREE! but not sockets etc. Plenty of bulbs, ballast, HPS, MH, CFL, and so on.
