Noob Questions about setup and strain.

Ok, so heres my plan for my first grow,
Ive got an indoor cabinet to grow in. Its roughly 5 feet tall, 4 feet wide and 2 feet deep. The inside is going to be covered in the Panda plastic. I will have a 4 inch intake fan, im getting a small oscillating fan for air movement across the plant and Im also getting a 4 In. In-line Duct Fan from Home Depot for the exhaust, and adding a charcoal filter for the smell.

As far as lighting goes Im thinking of a 24 inch, 2 tube florescent with with full spectrum bulbs, one bulb for the veg stage and then putting in 2 bulbs once mature. Light cycle will be 24\0 then 18\6.

As far as the plant, Im thinking about getting the "Snow White" feminized seeds from Nirvana. This way I can plant one and not have to worry about if its male\female. I only want to do one plant at a time to start with.

Is the Snow White strain good for a first grow?
Does the setup I described sound like it will work?
Thanks for the help.

Hey https://www.rollitup.org/members/immyowngod-155089.html immyowngod, I'm also a noobie on my first grow I have a 3x2x2 cabinet and growing with 2 t8 fluorescents and 8 CFL's right now I'm like on third week of vegging growing LST training style. I think your grow area is too big for the amount of light you're giving the plants. Like I said I'm a noobie but with my minimal experience I have, I think you need more power in their. Don't know about the strains that still is chinese for me.

Good Luck!

If you can fit a 4' florescent fixture in your 4' wide space I would definitely go with 4' over 24". They are far more efficient.

Or better yet t-5 bulbs

Your set up sounds like a fair start, but consider 4' 2 bulb T5HO 24/0 keep away from 18/6, you don't want them to stretch. (limited Space). Use 2 veg (blue) for 2 months then go 2 red for flower. Fim at 6" and that way they will stay short and have many tops. T5 in flower will have them coated with trichs.

So, I did some more measuring, I can only fit the 24 inch florescent tubes in the box because of the width, but I can put 2 of the in there which will give me 4 24 inch tubes at 850 Lumes each. Ill be able to adjust them up and down as the plants grow.

Does it sound like this will work for my cabinet?
Again, the dimensions are 5 feet tall, 4 feet wide and 2 feet deep.

Thanks for the help and info.

I think you will be much happier with the results from 4 lamps instead of 2. You really can't have too much light - especially when you are talking flourescents since they aren't hot. Check out the T5 lamps at High Tech Garden Supply - you don't have to buy them their but the site is pretty informative - not to mention good prices on High Output t5's.

Good Luck
