lake/creek vs. tap water?

i wanna grow by a lake that would be the shit

That would depend where the lake is and if it was natural or manmade and if it fluctuated much. I live on a rather large manmade lake and it fluctuates a good bit and if I planted near it my plants could end up 100 yards or more from the water or under 20 feet of water depending on what the weather did. Also in the case of Southern lakes, as in the U.S., many are very acidic so that would not be good.

lake/creek water is actually better because most tap waters have chlorine in them which seem fine for us to drink, but can be extremly deadly to plants and kill them, especially marijuana plants. A lake/creek water is all natural, creek is running so it makes it own filtering system, that should be good. :bigjoint:

I too would lean towards the "natural" sources and then verify through testing that it is ok. That being said one can get a general idea on the health of a body of water by observing what sort of creatures live in it. For example, if you see lots of aquatic insects as well as crayfish then that is a very healthy system. I water out of a 100 gal aquarium and this is a fantastic way of ensuring conditioned water as well as no doubt a healthy dose of trace elements & some fish emulsion thrown in too boot.
