Support CannaPAC today!
CannaPACaddress.jpg

CannaPAC is a political action committee (PAC) formed under the Michigan Campaign Finance Act for the purpose of making campaign contributions to candidates for state and local elections who support Michigan’s voter initiated medical marijuana law.

CannaPAC may also be used to make expenditures in support of ballot questions and to make independent expenditures on behalf of candidates who are supportive of the medical marijuana community.

We believe that politicians will take the concerns of the medical marijuana community more seriously if there is a vehicle to assist candidates who support the community’s goals. This is the reason for the existence of CannaPAC. Obviously, the more money we are able to raise for participation in Michigan elections, the more likely we will be able to protect Michigan’s medical marijuana act and to prevent local jurisdictions from passing ordinances which seek to thwart its goals.

The medical marijuana community is currently largely on the defensive. Fortunately, the medical marijuana act cannot be amended without 3/4 of each chamber of the Michigan legislature approving any change. If we raise enough money, we hope to be able to expand our role from pure defense to taking the initiative with such projects as local initiatives that protect the rights extended by the medical marijuana act and possible recalls of officials who are particularly driven to ignore the will of the people as represented by the electorate’s approval of the medical marijuana initiative.

CannaPac is not controlled by Cannabis Patients United, and any individual may contribute to this PAC. There are no limits on the size of contributions that may be made to CannaPAC. If you wish to make a contribution, please send it to:

CannaPAC
404 S. Jenison Ave.
Lansing, Michigan 48915

If your contribution is over $100, state law requires that you disclose your employer.

I sincerely thank TheMan13 for putting this up about CannaPAC. As the CannaPAC treasurer, I am willing to meet with any group of people who have interest in CannaPAC. How effective the PAC is in large part turns on how much money we can raise. I may be contacted at [email protected].

What does the money go towards? I mean, 3000 people screaming with signs outside their office doesn't help, what good is money going to do? How will it be used to sway the opinions of legislators?

I would hope with any success of CannaPAC that pro MMMP candidates would seek us out for help, publicity and funds. Better yet, may be we can get some of them to come out of the closet ;)

Can't make the meetin. But on my way home I saw a sign for a guy Runnin for judge in the Clare Gladwin area that I know is anti-prohibition. He is the lawyer who first told me about jury nullification.

Ghazey Aleck for Judge... His slogan?? "had enough yet?"

the money would be used to buy the vote of any person in government thru the purchase of dinners, show tickets...whatever the person in the PAC deems necessary under the quise....
and to make independent expenditures on behalf of candidates who are supportive of the medical marijuana community.

this is a blank check to do whatever they want with any money raised.....:blsmoke:

Ya I'd rather see a statewide billboard campaign or something where I could see my donations being put to good use. The public needs to be educated, not just politicians.

it isnt a bad thing if you have someone you trust working for your own good.
so this Tim is the lawyer and also the treasurer?

or

a lawyer that is the treasurer?

this may be a great thing, but in my eyes is seems to be a "worthy" scam.

When i used to take clients out to dinner, it was the same thing. sit down order some drinks, give the person our latest gimmick and threw them a few pens and that was it in the eyes of the law.

on a different thought, how do i get the fucking annoying support button to disappear forever?

Personally, I would like to see CannaPAC chase the MMMP cause not individual politicians. I like stumpjumpers statewide advertisement thought. I would rather educate Michigan voters than pander to individual districts or politicians.
