Thanks for the responses guys. Would I see a bigger yield and maintain quality if I were to get a 4x8 tent with 2 600's, instead of 1 4x4 with a 1000? I thought that might do the trick as I have a second 600 which would provide supplementary light as well as primary light for its own section...

I think you guys are missing the point. I have done several grows and understand the process. What I'm asking is ARE THERE ANY LONG TERM EFFECTS TO SPENDING 3 MONTHS IN SOLO CUPS BEFORE BEING PLANTED OUTDOORS? Once outdoors they'll have a full grow cycle.

Why isn't it a great idea? Will they simply stop growing when the become root bound? Or will it cause long term damage?

Well I have a couple plants outdoors and they haven't even begun to flower yet.
