I'm currently running 16 bulbs in a 5 x 5 with a 4 inch fan pulling from my tent to the attic and temps are fine. I keep them about 8 inches from the tops with no problems. Your going to need to pull that hot air out of your grow space.
I must confess that t5 lights kick ass. They are growing very nice plants with very manageable heat and the light distribution is very even. These are day 29.
Everything was going smoothly until my light hanger somehow slipped on half the girls and did some major damage. I just topped the burnt stuff and let them go. We'll see. The oldest girls are exceeding my expectations by a wide margin. T5 lights grow pretty plants. Growth rates are...
The research I have done says that temps at the root zone are more important that at the tops. It does make sense when you think about it. A plant can grow in 90 degree temps outside without issue because its roots are underground where the temps stay much cooler. Transpiration is the engine...
Heat is not a problem. Roots stay around 70 and tops no more than mid 80's. Using t5's so not sure about the lumens. But they slowly gain turgor through out the day as the take up water. My research has shown that too much salt in the medium actually pulls water out of the plant which causes...
Are there many things we accept as "best" or "the way" that are not necessarily best? I have grown in Soil, Soiless, Rockwool and now Coco. I have read and studied the methods of many "expert" growers both here and on other sites. I never used my own brain or saw with my own eyes. My plants...
I haven't talked about nutrients but I think I need to give a plug to blue plant. They are extremely clean. I switched from Canna and the difference is stark. With the Canna stuff there was a white film on everything they came into contact. I feed right around 400 ppm(water comes out of the...
