Just my $0.02, I would go with everclear 190 proof as it's safe to drink. Isopropyl alcohol on the other hand, has a long list of negative side effects from ingesting. Be safe with what you are inhaling into your lungs.

To my best knowledge you would use a closed loop system to remove mystery oil. I don't think you would find something cheaper to remove it if that's what you were asking. Although it doesn't have to be some extremely expensive setup if you're just using it to remove the mystery oil.
