I have chopped one tree as I found a few smallish buds with rot / mold and pistils looking too dark. Any leaf near these buds that was clearly black and dead got discarded as with any surrounding buds. Almost all bad were smallish buds and underneath branches. I think I have removed everything...

Sorry for your loss. Sucks. Hope you can salvage something. I am trying to make the best possible drying as many good branches and saving sugar leaves. Florence surely diminished my outlook on in ground growing in the North East. Not sure what I'll do next year.

Not sure anything would work with more freaking rain coming down now :( I chopped one of my trees in total that was most affected with bud rot / mold before it got too bad yesterday and this morning. Drying the good bud / branches now. Still 2 trees remaining, but those may need to come down...

That what I just did. Removed maybe 2 - 3 branches I found bud rot, and another 4 -5 lower branches surrounding the affected areas. Most the rot was on smaller interior buds where there would be more moisture. I cut away any bud with rot and any buds near the rot, trimmed the remaining 'good...

Bad weather here... more moisture, no sun for a while still. I have a couple lower branches showing bud rot, mold etc.. each bad bud has been removed. Should i chop each of these infected lower branches to protect the overall health of the tree, especiall some gorgeous top colas, or watch and...

I wound up loosing three branches and found some small buds with bud rot which have been removed. Please bring sun.

Lost a good sized branch this morning .... too much weight with the rain and the buds.... hoping the duct tape sling will get her limb to the finish line.
