Before you buy anything else, I would get a carbon filter, if you already don't have one. With the money left over I would get another 600 w light, more light=more pot.

As long as it doesn't smell in your place and doesn't seem like your doing anything illegal, a locked bedroom door isn't going to raise any eyebrows. I also turn off all my equipment the day they come so there isn't any noise coming from my room.

Don't take any leaves off your plant period. Leaves are like solar panels they absorb energy to make the plant grow.The only time you should be cutting leaves off, is if the leaf is more than 50% dead.
