IMO it sounds like your nitrogen levels are really high ? How old are the plants ? What is the PH of your water and how long did you flush ? Do you have pic's that would help !

I wouldn bother the roots at all, as this will stress the plants and that will efect the proper development of the flowers(buds) ! I would recomend if posible repotting her very carefuly into something larger ? Thers also a good time frame IMO to do this
