I believe that you're right. I'm pretty green at this as well. I only have a few soil grows and one DWC grow under my belt. I've been trimming them off once 50% or more of the leave has withered. The plants seems to let them drop off once they're done with them. I could be wrong. I have heard...

Also, I started using using Purple Maxxx. So, far I'm impressed. Lots of trichomes! I also started using Serenade to help fight off that damned powdery mildew and this stuff is amazing. PW is all gone and no damage to the flowers at all.
