Cold traps are easy. Do you know someone that can weld stainless?
All you need is a 6-12" x 4" dia spool, two end caps, two 1/4" npt couplers, and a 1/4" down tube. I put molecular sieve in mine and keep it in a bucket of cool water to help trap more moisture.
A pump, cooler, tank, and solvent is going to run about $1500-2000 by itself. The extractor body, depending on size and add ons, will run about $2000 for an 8 inch pot, and go up from there.
Once 5104 passes, I can build Mark II through Mark V terps for everyone who wants one, but really, building your own isn't all that tough. It helps you appreciate it more if you build it yourself. All you need is a competent fab shop with a TIG welder. Heck glacier tank is selling some stuff...

Seems like recovery of 'tane would be nil. Lots of solvent left behind unless they heat it all back up post flood/soak. Seems like a lot of trouble for very little benefit.
Exactly. We manipulate the pressure to keep the butane liquid, and we manipulate the temp of the butane/cannabis solution to return the butane to gaseous state for recovery.
