You can laugh all you ant but it adds sugar = resin plus it will suck up some of the flavor also.. I like blackberry myself but any will work. I do it 1 week out from harvest.
Ever tried slitting the main stalk and twist the knife a little take your favorite jelly and smear up and into the cut. Put tape over the wound. The plant will suck up the sugar and the some flavor of the jelly.. Works for me great!!!!!
