  • hey whats up raffiki? sorry bro i havent started a journal on the auto just yet. Ive been taking pics of their progress but was waiting to post until they started getting a little bigger... check later this afternoon and ill try and get that started. thanks for stopping by... peace
thanks for the advise man. i looked what you suggested up and got a 60-100x hand microscope from radio shack. was using plain eye sight and a magnifyin glass. im week 10 into flowering and trichs only look about 40-50% milky and rest clearish with only like 5-10% amber. shouldnt they be farther along than that since im week 10 in flower? they are bagseed so strian no clue. thanks again i really appreciate it!
thanks for the feedback dude. yes you were right about the watering probs. from your honest opinion how much longer do you think my girls like before harvest? this is my first time at this and reading can only tell you so much ya know. thanks again man! keep smokin
dang. . have you tried UFO LEDs? I heard mixed reviews about them, then again i hear more negative
info in general about LED grow. I basically have my mind set on LEDs, using way less power, uses only
    needed light.

As for your Post on LED's i was able to find it, could you send me the link?
I know what you mean it is confusing at first but the concepts are pretty simple. It is one of those things that makes perfect sense AFTER you do it lol.

I looked at that lamp and there are a few things that are questionable. It is missing white which could cause problems for some strains by delaying or interfering with ripening. Another major concern is the efficiency of the LEDs used. They could easily be less than half as efficient as the golden dragons KNNA has tested. I estimate dissipation watts to be about 95 but it could be even less. Because of the likely poor efficiency of the emitters it could be suitable for only 1.5 sq. ft. I would feel much safer recommending the HydroGrowLed but that is $275 and is only good for 2 sq ft anyway.
If you are hooked on the idea of a DIY LED lamp check out the DIY LED thread KNNA put up on gardenscure and also my LED thread on ICMAG. They will give you a basic idea of what is involved. If you can do basic soldering you are all set and KNNA can source the most difficult parts like the drivers and top bin emitters. If not, I would suggest an HPS setup. They use more watts and require more ventilation but they get the job done well enough.
NP man. KNNA recommends a minimum of 28w dissipation per sq ft of actual canopy (250w/sq meter). That wattage will provide nice big dense nugs. A lower wattage can lead to fluffier buds and difficult trimming. That is no big deal in a micro grow but always good habit to avoid if possible.

It would be tricky to build a lamp smaller than the 90w like I quoted earlier because there would be excess heatsink, less LEDs per driver than is optimal or less drivers than is optimal. So the best value and efficiency would cost a bit more and would be well worth saving up for IMHO. A 90watter would cover 3 sq ft scrog/LST nicely and would give you a little elbow room in the grow area.
