ya i would definitely stagger them so the lower plants wont block the light to ones on the different rows as they get taller. i've been considering this type of setup for a while now. best light use by far!

they would probably just get to big to fit in your tray as well as being unmanageable. your roots would be exposed to light and have no medium to grab on to and they would die for sure. it is possible to take clones from a flowering plant if that can make your timing any more manageable. other...

i just drilled 1'' holes in the lower side of my 5gals with a whole borer from homedepot and bought 1'' black flex tubing and just kinda rammed the tubes in the whole. the hole was a bit smaller so the tube pushes out creating a water tight seal. havent leaked a drop and i got 16 5gals all...
