If I tie it down wont that damage the plant as it grows?

I am 4 weeks into flowering and running out of vertical room quickly in my cabinet. Is it to late to cut the top of this plant off or can I do it without harming the entire thing?

On week 4 of flowering now. May have a bit of a problem. The biggest plant is running out of space. Its about 4 inches from starting to touch the CFLs. Can I cut the top off this late in the game or should I just get rid of the CFLs above it? HELP!

Also.. How long do I leave these in a vegetative mode? I have heard during flowering they will grow about 3x the size they are when you start flowering. I want to make sure I dont run out of space.
