More research tells me that it is, in fact, heat stress? Can 80' ambient temps really do that?

AFAIK, you'll be doing that until the roots hits the res, about 7-10 days. Yes, you are not supposed to let the water sit there, that's why a. you water until runoff and b. you flush it every once in a while. Basically, your res can't go dry until the roots hit them.

Been to ALL the big box retailers and have not been able to find any vermiculite AT ALL. Friend says he got his bag (MG probably) from Home Depot but no dice there either. Maybe they don't carry it anymore? Anyway, I know there's alot of prop215/sb420 guys here, so maybe one of you guys...
