The roots are great. They make huge rootballs in the tubes and some grow several feet long, back into the reservoir

Zem, This is exactly how I make my resevoir. I lined the inside of the closet with pond liner, put a ledger around the walls and lay 2x4's across the top as a floor. I basically built a resevoir under a raised floor. This way the floor of my grow space is clear.

nutrient film technique. 2 hours on. 1 hour off. 24-7 to keep the roots moist.

Nice tight branching. Indicas? I'm switching to OG Kush and Indicas next crop. I want to flower 10" plants, keep em short with one or two colas each.

Great thread. Here is my first vertical grow. 4x5 room, six plants, 2-600w lights in cool tubes, CO2. 30 days veg (took 150 clones during that time). Now in 4th week of flower.

Thanks guys. no net pots. 3" grodan stuffed into the pipes 4" column with 3" pipe stuck into the holes at an angle. you can see a couple columns with 3" pipes inserted.

Eight foot seems a little big for 600's. Guys with 6' diameter column grows are using 2-1000's. 4' diameters use 600's. I am doing a vertical grow like heaths (but simpler) in a 4x5 closet using two 600's. As far as using 4" drain pipe to grow in, no problem. I'm doing a six plant grow...
